💼 The Role:
This remote Controller position offers the opportunity to manage and oversee all aspects of the company's financial operations, ensuring compliance with government regulations (DFARS, DCAA, CAS). The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in government contract accounting and a proven ability to lead and mentor a team.
🎯 Responsibilities:
- 🚀 Financial Management: Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, balance sheet reconciliations, and payroll processing. Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for senior leadership.
- ⚖️ Compliance: Maintain accounting, timekeeping, and travel & expense policies, ensuring compliance with company, local, state, and federal government requirements. Act as liaison for DCMA and DCAA, handling compliance submissions and requests.
- ⚙️ Process Improvement: Identify and address potential financial risks. Implement new processes to improve efficiency and minimize risk. Promote process improvements and provide team training.
- 🤝 Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with senior management on budgeting, financial analysis, and presentations. Collaborate with external auditors and CPAs on audits and tax matters. Manage relationships with banking institutions.
- 💻 System Management: Manage Costpoint, Amazon, and Concur licenses and subscriptions. File reports with taxing authorities and prepare annual 1099s.
💪 Required Skills & Experience:

Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business Administration.

Experience: 10+ years of relevant experience; government contract accounting preferred.

Technical Skills: Extensive knowledge of GAAP, DFARS, DCAA, and CAS regulations. Proficiency in Deltek Costpoint and Microsoft Office Suite.

Soft Skills: Excellent management and supervisory skills, written and verbal communication, analytical abilities, attention to detail, critical thinking, problem-solving, organizational skills, and time management.
📍 Location: Remote, preferably located in the Southeast United States. Full-time, Monday-Friday, 8 am - 5 pm local time.
