Summary
- Sheet Metal Technicians are an integral part of the Return to Service team.
- Experience, practical knowledge, creativity, and problem-solving skills ensure aircraft are assembled according to applicable documentation.
Responsibilities
- Provide aircraft sheet metal fabrication, disassembly, and reassembly tasks as assigned using all common and special purpose aircraft maintenance tools and test equipment.
- Repair sheet metal and composite structures.
- Diagnose and repair aircraft components.
- Prepare and apply various aircraft finishes.
- Read blueprints, interpret schematics, complex technical diagrams, and drawings.
- Trim parts as required.
- Maintain system components.
- Verify cable tension.
- Assess damage and corrosion of aircraft structures.
- Repair, replace, and modify sheet metal and/or composite structures.
- Operate aircraft towing equipment in towing operations.
- Perform preventive maintenance inspections on aircraft and aircraft systems and subsystems.
- Operate and service ground support equipment.
- Ensure work accomplished on any aircraft or component complies with:
- Applicable airworthiness standards and OEM instructions.
- Company Policies and Procedures.
- Regulated safety standards.
- Ensure all replacement parts are inspected, eligible, and properly certified prior to installation.
- Ensure removed parts are properly tagged and routed to quarantine.
- Carry out maintenance, repair, modification, and daily inspection of company aircraft as detailed in the company maintenance control manual.
- Complete and certify work reports for all work accomplished on the aircraft.
- Follow company procedures as per the maintenance control manual using safe work practices.
- Carry out both line and heavy maintenance activities in accordance with operational standards.
- Carry out Independent Checks when authorized as per company policies and procedures.
- Work in compliance with all applicable Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) acts and regulations.
- Follow safe work practices and procedures and use safeguards and personal protective equipment, as necessary and when required.
- Report any hazards or potential safety risks (such as unsafe situations and activities) to a supervisor immediately.
- Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service.
- Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices.
- Perform related duties as assigned by supervisor.
- Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures.
Requirements
- Proven track record of success working on complex assignments requiring considerable judgment, initiative, and technical/specialized knowledge.

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers.
- Computer proficiency (MS Office – Word, Excel, and Outlook).
- FAA Airframe and Power Plant (A&P) license/certification or equivalent experience required.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- A minimum of 5 years overall aircraft maintenance experience.
- Must be a US Citizen or hold a valid Green Card.
Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have)
- Inspection Authorization (IA) certification.
- Associate degree strongly preferred.
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent.
Physical Requirements

Special Work Conditions
