🧑‍💻 The Role

The ASIC Digital Implementation team in Porto, Portugal, is looking for a skilled ASIC Physical Design Engineer to contribute to the development of high-quality, cutting-edge, semiconductor IP and Test Chips. A key part of this role is to provide valuable feedback to architecture and digital/analog design teams regarding floorplan, power plan, and timing constraints and closure, ensuring smooth physical verification. This position also requires collaboration with various Synopsys teams across locations and effective communication with management.

What You'll Do 🛠️

• Participate in all stages of the place and route flow, covering Synthesis, Floorplan, Power Plan, Placement, CTS, Routing, STA, and Physical Verification.
• Keep track of incoming and outgoing deliveries, ensuring timely completion and reporting on project progress.
• Collaborate with senior team members to achieve project objectives.
• Offer technical feedback to design teams and management.

What We're Looking For 🔎

• Education: A degree in electrical engineering or computer science.
• Experience: Minimal to no experience in ASIC physical implementation and place and route flows.
• Skills: Strong scripting and programming skills, including TCL, Unix Shell, and Python.
• Language: Excellent written and spoken English skills.
• Other: Great communication, self-learning, and self-planning abilities. Eagerness to embrace new challenges and the ability to work effectively within a team to foster positive working relationships.

Bonus Points 👍

• Proficiency in C++
• Hands-on experience with the Synopsys PnR toolset (Design Compiler, IC Compiler, Prime Time, IC Validator)
