💼 Billing Specialist: Mastering the Art of Revenue Collection 💰

Overview:

Dive into the world of healthcare revenue management as a Billing Specialist at Conifer Health. From processing incoming requests to ensuring timely payments, you'll play a pivotal role in maximizing revenue collection for multiple departments.

Key Responsibilities:

Billing Expertise:
  • Display your expertise in various billing processes, guiding team members and answering their queries while working closely with leadership to review reports.
  • Seamlessly navigate multiple markets and systems, providing inventory coverage and adapting to dynamic environments.
📈 Accurate Billing:
  • Ensure primary claims are billed appropriately, completing electronic submissions, paper claims, and required documentation attachments.
  • Handle subsequent billing to secondary and tertiary insurance companies, attaching pertinent Explanation of Benefits (EOB) as needed.
🔍 Diligent Claim Reviews:
  • Review billing edits on claim forms to minimize underpayment, denials, and re-billing attempts.
  • Scrutinize unbilled accounts and rebill requests, billing late charges with proper codes.
📑 Administrative Tasks:
  • Verify accurate insurance information in patient demographics, utilizing VI, account notes, and related accounts.
  • Route accounts requiring updates to the appropriate departments or contacts, adhering to the workflow process.
🔎 Claims Troubleshooting:
  • Analyze rejected claims, determining causes and taking appropriate steps for resolution. Don't hesitate to contact insurance companies for clarity.
  • Aim to complete assigned inventory provided by leadership on a daily basis, meeting inventory goals.
📘 Professionalism and Compliance:
  • Maintain adherence to all billing policies, procedures, objectives, quality assurance programs, safety, and compliance standards.
Qualifications:
🌟 Educational Background:
  • High school diploma or equivalent is essential.
  • Some college coursework in business administration or accounting is preferred.
💪 Experience and Skills:
  • 1-2 years of hospital billing or collections experience is mandatory.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and manage high claim volumes.
💪 Physical Demands:
  • Ability to sit and work at a computer for extended periods is essential.

  • Potential signing bonus for qualified new hires, subject to employment status.
  • Time and a half compensation for Conifer observed holidays.
