The Role πΌ
As a Cattle Nutritionist, you'll provide crucial technical and nutritional support across a designated three-state region (up to 50% travel). This remote position requires you to be based in Texas.
What You'll Do:
- Lead technical and nutritional support in your assigned area.
- Boost sales by consulting with and educating end-users and prospects.
- Provide technical leadership to producers, Sales Specialists, and co-ops/dealers.
- Collaborate with Sales Professionals to educate producers and offer solutions.
- Work independently and with Sales Professionals to help customers and prospects find the best nutritional and species management practices.
- Lead nutrition and species education for the sales team and dealer network.
- Partner in organizing and conducting producer events promoting best practices, including field trials showcasing Purina products.
- Act as a key liaison with the broader industry.
- Communicate with the Purina technical team and research staff to drive innovation in research and product development.
- Maintain high proficiency in nutrition, production management, and sales through training and documented sales results.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What We're Looking For:
- Required: PhD/DVM in species-specific nutrition.
- Required: 3+ years of industry and/or university experience.
- Required: Enjoy field work with producers, sales specialists, and feed dealers.
- Required: Ability to lift and carry 50-pound bags of feed.
- Required: Excellent communication skills in various settings.
- Required: Proficiency in computer skills, including ration balancing and Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word).
- Required: Strong leadership, customer focus, and action-oriented approach.
- Preferred: Daily travel experience within an assigned geographic area.
- Preferred: Enthusiasm for teamwork and a collaborative spirit focused on mutual success (Purina, producers, dealers).
- Preferred: Self-motivation and excellent time management skills with a proactive approach to growth and opportunity.
