The Role 👨‍🏫

As a Part-Time Information Technology Instructor, you'll play a key role in shaping the future of our students. You'll be responsible for designing and delivering engaging online courses via Microsoft Teams, ensuring students gain the practical skills they need to thrive in the industry.

What You'll Do 📝

• Teach synchronous online courses on Mondays and Tuesdays.
• Develop and organize instruction that keeps students engaged and helps them learn effectively.
• Adapt your teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of your students.
• Use effective teaching and learning strategies to communicate course material.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date student records, including attendance and grades.
• Comply with accreditation requirements and CIAT policies and procedures.
• Submit required documentation, including attendance records, pre/post exams, and lab sheets.
• Communicate with management about course materials and resources.
• Collaborate with other staff on projects and initiatives.
• Adhere to CIAT's business casual dress code.

What We're Looking For 🔎

• Must-Haves:
  • Bachelor's degree or higher (from an accredited institution)
  • Official transcripts
  • CompTIA A+ Certification
  • At least 3 years of experience in the field OR 2 years of teaching experience
• Preferred:
  • Synchronous online teaching experience
  • Advanced subject matter expertise
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development
  • Strong presentation, communication, and technology skills
  • Familiarity with MS Office applications (Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and learning platforms (like Canvas)
  • Ability to work independently and dependably
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Collaborative spirit and commitment to supporting student success
  • Knowledge of current trends and best practices in higher education
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • High ethical standards and a commitment to professionalism
  • Ability to adhere to college policies and regulations

Position Type and Hours ⏰

• Typically Monday-Friday, but occasional weekend or evening work may be needed.
• Live classes are scheduled twice a week: Mondays and Tuesdays, 6:00 PM – 9:30 PM PT.

Location 🌎

• Remote work must be performed while residing in California or New Mexico.
• CIAT locations: San Diego, CA and Albuquerque, NM

Compensation 💰

• $38-$42/hour (depending on experience)

• This may be a sedentary role, requiring extended periods of sitting.
