πŸ€” About the Role:

As a Crisis Counselor, you'll provide immediate support to individuals experiencing emotional distress or mental health challenges via phone, text, and other methods. You'll be a vital first responder, offering empathy, resources, and guidance.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a secure, HIPAA-compliant home workspace.
  • Engage with callers, building rapport and providing support.
  • Assess and mitigate risks, documenting interactions thoroughly.
  • Offer resources, information, and referrals as needed.
  • Assist callers in developing coping strategies and safety plans.
  • Intervene during emergencies.
  • Maintain composure and professionalism in a fast-paced environment.

βœ… What We're Looking For:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited 4-year college or university.
  • Experience: Minimum 1 year of direct experience in Behavioral Health or Social Services.
  • Skills: Exceptional communication, active listening, empathy, crisis intervention techniques, problem-solving, resilience, multitasking, and proficiency with computer systems.
  • Location: Fully remote in Pennsylvania; secure, HIPAA-compliant workspace required. Stable, wired internet connection is a must.

This role includes a paid, six-week virtual cohort training program (Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM PST). Successful completion is required for continued employment. Training covers various learning modalities, including role-playing and live call-taking.

⏰ Schedule: Your post-training schedule will be developed with Protocall's Scheduling Department during onboarding. Flexibility is required, including weekend and holiday availability.
