The RoleΒ π§βπ»
As a Database Infrastructure Engineer, you'll be a key player in designing, managing, and optimizing our internal database systems, primarily using PostgreSQL. You'll leverage your expertise in cloud and data center infrastructure, focusing on security, containers, networking, monitoring, automation, and debugging. You'll proactively identify tasks, mentor colleagues, and suggest improvements to our infrastructure.
What You'll DoΒ π οΈ
- Manage Wrike's product infrastructure, concentrating on data infrastructure.
- Design reliable solutions to maintain a 99.99% product uptime SLA.
- Work with GCP and other providers using Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
- Implement and support new infrastructure services.
- Actively participate in incident response and management, including on-call responsibilities.
- Develop and maintain professional relationships within and outside the team.
- Drive the completion of significant projects, with support from senior team members.

We use a Java-based SaaS application running on Kubernetes, serving over 20,000 organizations. Our data is spread across 100+ highly available PostgreSQL clusters. We utilize robust data streaming pipelines for seamless data access. Key technologies include: PostgreSQL, Kafka, RabbitMQ, Kubernetes, Helm, Nginx, HAProxy, Istio, GCP, AWS, Cloudflare, Puppet, Ansible, Terraform, Python, Prometheus (VictoriaMetrics), Zabbix, Graylog, Logstash, Fluentd, Jenkins, and GitLab CI.
What We're Looking ForΒ π

Essential:Β Advanced experience designing, managing, and optimizing PostgreSQL-based database systems; advanced knowledge in at least two of the following areas (with intermediate knowledge of the rest): data networks, security, databases, cloud providers, process automation, containerized application management; advanced Linux administration skills maintaining highly available infrastructure for web application stacks; sufficient scripting skills in Python/Bash or similar; upper-intermediate English.

Bonus Points:Β Advanced Kubernetes experience; advanced experience managing any cloud provider using IaC (AWS/GCP/Azure); strong understanding of Linux fundamentals (security, hardware, troubleshooting); monitoring experience with Zabbix, Grafana, or Prometheus; advanced experience with configuration management tools (Ansible/Puppet/Salt).

You'll join a 14-person SysOps department, split across two teams in Prague, Cyprus, and Tallinn. As a core team member, you'll collaborate within a larger engineering team of 250+.
