About the Company
We're a Canadian not-for-profit equipping youth educators and learners with essential digital literacy skills.
About the Role
Are you a builder who thrives on bringing innovative digital products to life? Are you a strategist that has a passion for creating user journeys that drive impact?
We're looking for a strategic, impact-driven, action-oriented and technically-minded Digital Product Manager to join our team.
This is a new and exciting role where you'll have the opportunity to build a digital product from the ground up, with a lean, start-up mindset. You will be instrumental in developing a solution that allows us to scale our impact, providing educators with the tools they need to bring digital literacy into their classrooms, at scale.
Reporting directly to the CEO, you'll work closely with them and our programs team to ideate and help build an interactive, self-paced learning solution that leverages the latest in artificial intelligence to personalize learning experiences for educators. This role will also be responsible for assessing potential revenue streams to ensure the long-term sustainability and scalability of the product. You will be responsible for managing external web development agencies to ensure the successful build out of this product.
If you're ready to turn a vision into a tangible product that will make a difference in the lives of Canadian educators, this role is for you.
What You’ll Do
- Own the end-to-end product development lifecycle, from ideation to launch and post-launch iteration, for a new digital literacy platform designed specifically for educators.
- Apply lean methodologies to quickly test assumptions, iterate on product features, and build a minimum viable product (MVP) based on user need and feedback.
- Research, evaluate, and integrate AI tools and technologies to create adaptive and personalized professional development pathways for educators.
- Analyze and assess potential revenue streams and business models to ensure the long-term sustainability and scalability of the product.
- Conduct user research with educators to gather insights, define product requirements, and ensure the final product is intuitive, effective, and directly addresses their professional needs.
- Work collaboratively with the CEO, the programs team, and external partners to align product goals with the organizational mission and pedagogical best practices. Manage the relationship with external agencies for the web development portion, if needed.
- Develop a product strategy that focuses on broad adoption, allowing our organization to reach a wider audience of educators across Canada.
Requirements
- Experience: 3-5 years of experience in product management, product development, or a similar role.
- Experience working in a lean start-up environment is a significant asset.
- A degree and/or diploma in computer science, business, education, or a related field.
- Hands-on experience working with AI tools and APIs (e.g., OpenAI, Hugging Face, TensorFlow, LangChain) and an understanding of how to quickly prototype AI-enabled solutions.
- Web development understanding.
- Experience in EdTech or not-for-profit sector is a bonus!
- Proven ability to understand a product vision, assess market opportunities, and take action to explore new business models. This includes an innovator mindset with a "build fast, test, iterate" attitude.
- Sees opportunities to leverage automation, personalization, and generative AI to accelerate development and enhance the user experience.
- A deep understanding of the needs and challenges of youth educators.
- A deep understanding of user journey with experience optimizing flows and UX.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts and business ideas to diverse stakeholders.
- Able to translate ambiguous ideas into tangible, functional digital tools.
