About the Company
The Health and Safety at Work Department pilots the occupational health and safety prevention policy and ensures the implementation and monitoring of actions related to professional risk prevention. Its mission is to advise the community, managers, agents, and their representatives to prevent any deterioration of health due to work.

The Director of Occupational Health and Safety oversees a department of 14 agents structured around an ergonomics and professional risk prevention service, a preventive medicine unit, an administrative unit, a work psychologist, and a social worker.

Reporting to the Deputy Director General for Human Resources, the Director assists the community in defining and implementing the professional risk prevention policy for the City, in collaboration with other prevention stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Expertise and Steering Missions:

  • Promote, coordinate, and lead the community's occupational health and safety policy.
  • Contribute to the success of cross-functional projects related to occupational health and safety, in collaboration with all departments.
  • Organize and monitor the decisions of the Specialized Committee regarding health, safety, and working conditions.
  • Pilot and implement the professional risk assessment process.
  • Produce and monitor various dashboards for health and safety indicators.
  • Organize and monitor inspections related to occupational health and safety.
  • Organize and monitor the resolution of observations arising from site visits.
  • Develop and monitor the implementation of the city's annual prevention program.
  • Develop, pilot, coordinate, and lead the network of decentralized prevention relays.
  • Manage the overall budget for the department.

Team Management Missions:

  • Provide managerial, administrative, and technical management of the department's agents.

Requirements

Required Skills:

  • Higher education degree in occupational health and safety prevention (Master's level, Professional Risk Prevention Engineer, or equivalent).
  • Proven experience leading complex and innovative projects in this area of expertise.
  • Thorough knowledge of the legal framework for occupational health and safety.
  • Mastery of project management methodology and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong analytical, synthesis, and writing skills.
  • Good knowledge of the overall functioning of the community and its various roles.

Required Qualities:

  • Proven managerial capabilities with a multidisciplinary team and a strong sense of teamwork.
  • Demonstrates a sense of responsibility, active listening, dialogue, and diplomacy.
  • Capacity for anticipation and organization.
  • Proactive and able to propose solutions.

Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have)

  • Driving license B desired (a service vehicle will be provided).

Location
Travel required to all City and CCAS sites.

Work Model

  • Teleworking possible 1 day per week after 6 months of professional service.

Work Hours

  • 37.5 hours per week (full-time position).
