👋 About the Role

We're searching for a skilled and enthusiastic Engineering Manager to join our innovative team in Lisbon, Portugal! You'll be a key player in designing and building high-performance systems that help detect financial risks.

What You'll Do

• 🚀 Lead & Grow Your Team: Take the reins of your team, overseeing the growth and development of current members, and spearheading the recruitment and onboarding of new talent.
• 🤝 Foster a Thriving Work Environment: Cultivate a positive and collaborative atmosphere that encourages innovation and new ideas.
• 🧠 Mentor & Coach: Guide and mentor your team, promoting a growth mindset and embracing new technologies.
• 🎯 Set Direction & Take Ownership: Establish the path forward for your team and be accountable for technical decisions.
• 🤝 Partner with Product: Collaborate closely with your product counterpart to guarantee that your team delivers on the product roadmap.
• 🤝 Collaborate Across Teams: Work with colleagues within your team and across the organization to make sure your team's work meets industry standards.
• 📈 Report to Leadership: Report to the Director of Engineering and collaborate with other Engineering Managers on cross-team projects.

• Backend: Kotlin and Python
• Frontend: TypeScript/ES6+React
• Databases: Postgres, Yugabyte

What We're Looking For

• 💪 Proven Team Leadership: You have a track record of leading and growing high-performing engineering teams.
• 💡 Engineering Expertise: You're knowledgeable about engineering best practices, including architecture and testing.
• 💻 JVM Language Proficiency: You're proficient in a Java Virtual Machine (JVM)-based language.
• 🗄️ Data Experience: You've worked with data-intensive applications and relational databases (like Postgres, MySQL, SQL Server, or Oracle).
• 🏗️ Microservices Design: You have experience designing and building microservices.
• ✍️ Communication Skills: You're an excellent communicator, both verbally and in writing, and comfortable writing technical documentation.
• 🤝 Collaboration: You've worked effectively with product and commercial teams.
• 📍 Location: You are based in Lisbon.

• ☁️ Cloud Experience: Experience with AWS and Docker/Kubernetes.
