🧑‍⚕️ The Role

Flight Doctor

The Flight Doctor is responsible for leading clinical resuscitation and stabilization of patients during flights, working as part of a multi-disciplinary team.

What You'll Do:

  • Lead all aspects of clinical care for critical care transport and flight medicine.
  • Collaborate with other medical professionals to make sure care is continuous.
  • Keep and maintain all medical records properly.
  • Provide clinical reports to the Iqarus Chief Medical Officer.
  • Support clinical mentoring for staff development.
  • Make sure best practices align with clinical guidelines and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Support the clinical excellence framework under the direction of the Chief Medical Officer.
  • Connect with external agencies when necessary to ensure a smooth transition of care and professional referrals/patient handovers.

Requirements

What We're Looking For:

  • A first level degree in Medicine with a minimum of 3 years of continuous, progressive clinical experience after qualification.
  • Postgraduate training in Anesthesia or Emergency Medicine or Aero-Medicine with at least three (3) years of experience after qualification.
  • Currently registered and licensed to practice medicine and apply your specialty without supervision in your home country.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience in working in a challenging environment.
  • Experience in working with a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Experience in aviation medicine.

Nice-to-Have

  • Knowledge of Portuguese language.

Key Skills:

  • Certification in ATLS/ITLS/PHTLS/ETC (or equivalent) and ACLS/BLS.
  • Training in Aviation Medicine.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Strong IT skills, including using electronic medical records systems.
  • Fluent in English.

Essential Capabilities:

  • Ability to stay calm and work effectively under high-pressure situations.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplined team, including clinical and non-clinical personnel.
