Responsibilities

  • This role is responsible for prospecting and closing sales to new customers to meet budgeted sales goals.
  • Develop and put into action sound selling strategies that result in revenue growth at target or greater profitability levels by selling to new customers.
  • Manage existing business relationships to meet budgeted sales and price goals by developing and putting into action sound retention strategies.
  • Use strong negotiation efforts to keep business and secure contract agreements from customers who were not previously contracted.
  • "Save, secure, and convert" by handling all customer cancellation requests.
  • Provide ongoing education about contract details to existing customers.
  • Get customer contract commitments during face-to-face meetings.
  • Resolve all escalations for customer service within the defined territory.
  • Maintain and grow the billable value in assigned accounts.
  • Prevent customer account losses and grow billable value by selling permanent new waste streams, new services, and new products to current and prospective customers.
  • Start business-to-business sales relationships.
  • Manage prospects by developing sound prospect development plans and keeping key information in the prospect database.
  • Maintain the sales pipeline (in terms of quantity and quality) to meet new sales goals.
  • Minimize most revenue and accounts by keeping up SSDO relationship health standards and diffusing cancellation requests.
  • Meet or exceed sales call activity goals for proactive account retention.
  • Increase revenue and profitability by executing sound plans on retention calls to make the customers’ service and/or profitability better.
  • Establish and keep a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Propose customer solutions that follow appropriate local, state, and federal rules.
  • Talk with and work with the Area Sales Managers to resolve unique customer issues.
  • Show knowledge of customers’ needs, pricing, and competition.
  • Effectively communicate pricing and service strategies.
  • Proactively engage other WM business opportunities, referring internally as appropriate.
  • Get deep industry and company knowledge to prepare complex proposals and make suggestions on equipment adjustment and leasing options.
  • Keep current knowledge of internal sales strategies and operational abilities, and external market trends.
  • Work closely and communicate well with Plant Managers and Brokerage Account Managers to help upgrade materials to increase profitability and meet plant goals.

Requirements

  • Must live and work in Canada.
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree (accredited) or in place of a degree, a High School Diploma or GED (accredited) and 4 years of related work experience is required.
  • Experience: 4 years of work experience in direct business-to-business sales, business-to-business cold calling, and phone-based business-to-business prospecting that resulted in successfully getting customer appointments (in addition to the education requirement) is required.
  • Bilingual (French and English) is required because this role needs frequent interactions and communications with employees, customers, and others located outside of Quebec.

  • A valid driver's license and access to a personal vehicle are required for this role, as regular travel within the assigned territory is expected.

  • Requires travel (client visits) across the Montreal Area.
  • Candidates need to be physically in the Montreal area to be considered.
  • Occasional office days may be required.

Salary
The expected base pay range for this remote position in Quebec is $65,000 - $75,000. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position. The specific salary offered to a successful candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s relevant experience, education, training, certifications, qualifications, and work location. In addition, this position is eligible for commission.

Location
This is an outside sales role that is Work from home (WFH). It requires travel (client visits) across the Montreal Area. Candidates need to be physically in Montreal area in order to be considered. Occasional office days may be required.
