๐Ÿš€ย The Role:

As our Head of Amazon, you'll spearhead the growth and profitability of our pet product portfolio on Amazon. You'll craft and execute a winning Amazon strategy, expertly balancing 1P and 3P selling models to maximize revenue while maintaining healthy contribution margins.

Responsibilities:ย ๐Ÿ’ผ

  • Amazon Strategy & Execution:ย Develop and implement a comprehensive Amazon sales strategy, optimizing the blend of 1P and 3P selling. This includes optimizing product listings (content, images, SEO, reviews), managing advertising campaigns for maximum ROI, and ensuring strong Minimum Advertised Price (MAP) policy compliance (90%+). You'll also collaborate with various teams to create profitable, Amazon-specific SKUs and bundles.
  • Financial Management:ย Drive a 20-30% increase in Amazon top-line revenue while maintaining strong contribution margins. Negotiate favorable terms with Amazon to optimize logistics costs and overall profitability. You'll monitor financial performance, making adjustments as needed to meet targets.
  • Operational Excellence:ย Maintain inventory in-stock rates above 95% across all brands. Reduce chargebacks to under 0.3% of revenue through effective teamwork. Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements (including the INFORM Consumer's Act).
  • Team Leadership:ย Manage a small team, including a direct report, Amazon partners, and an agency. Create an Amazon playbook for onboarding new brands. Foster collaboration across teams, showcasing Amazon as a key growth driver.
  • Reporting & Analysis:ย Provide precise weekly and monthly forecasts for real-time sales and profitability management. Regularly review key performance indicators (revenue, buy box ownership, SEO rankings, inventory). Use Amazon data to drive innovation and guide future acquisitions.

Qualifications:ย ๐ŸŽฏ

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Proven success in managing and scaling Amazon businesses, ideally with a portfolio of brands.
  • Pet industry experience (multi-brand companies preferred).
  • Demonstrated ability to boost profitability through strategic initiatives (renegotiating terms, managing assortments, enforcing MAP policies).
  • Strong analytical skills (Excel proficiency, demand forecasting, P&L management).
  • Exceptional leadership skills (team management, hiring, talent development).
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset, resourceful and creative problem-solver.
  • Deep understanding of Amazon's policies, guidelines, and algorithm changes.
  • Love for dogs or cats (and treats!)
