A global leader in reinsurance and risk management seeks a Head of Finance Operations to join its Malta-based finance team. π What You'll Do:
- Lead a team of finance professionals in the Malta office.
- Oversee financial accounting and reporting (quarterly and annually), including Balance Sheet and Income Statement analytics. This includes managing financial operations and selected Group reporting processes under IFRS Accounting standards (IFRS 17 & 9), covering treasury, investments, tax, general accounting, and Solvency II Pillar III reporting.
- Manage accounting and reporting processes for ECON Group reporting, ensuring timely internal and external reports.
- Participate in global and local projects to improve data governance, reporting, and financial close processes (promoting automation and integration).
- Lead or support audit activities related to Financial Operations.
- Foster a positive and collaborative team environment.
- Support the CFO in implementing strategic initiatives.
- Present to management, auditors, and other stakeholders.
- Tackle additional projects as needed.

What We're Looking For:
- Accounting, reporting, or finance degree (or equivalent, e.g., ACCA).
- 7-10 years post-qualification experience in accounting, ideally in (re)insurance, with management experience.
- Expertise in reinsurance technical accounting, including IFRS 17 & 9 and Solvency II Pillar III.
- Audit and project management experience is a plus. Familiarity with control design, quality control, internal control monitoring, and risk evaluation is beneficial. Technical research experience is an advantage.
- Working knowledge of FSRI, SAP GT, and EDWH applications, and our clientβs accounting and corporate reporting processes is key.
- Ability to prioritize, delegate, and monitor effectively.
- Proactive, positive attitude and ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; fluent business English.
