At Keys Counseling, we're dedicated to providing top-notch mental health support, not just for our clients but for our team members too. We're a home-based social service agency serving Northwest Indiana, and we're searching for a passionate Caseworker to join our team in Elkhart, IN.

What We Do

Keys Counseling specializes in helping children and families involved with the Department of Child Services or juvenile delinquency legal systems. We champion community safety, family well-being, and emotional healing by using various proven strategies to address mental health and relationship challenges.

Your Role

You'll be working directly with families and children in their homes and communities, playing a key role in implementing treatment plans.

Key Responsibilities

  • Providing Support in the Home: Conducting high-quality home visits to support families in reaching their case plan goals.
  • Conflict Resolution & Guidance: Guiding families and children through conflict resolution, setting healthy boundaries, and actively listening.
  • Family Communication: Fostering open and productive communication within families.
  • Transportation & Attendance: Taking families to appointments and meetings, and participating in child and family team meetings.
  • Teaching & Implementing Techniques: Creating and implementing structured time management for children and families, and teaching behavior modification techniques.
  • Resource Management: Introducing families to budgeting and money management skills.
  • Collaboration: Maintaining relationships with referral sources by responding promptly to communications.
  • Professional Development: Attending supervision, training, and other scheduled meetings.
  • Documentation: Keeping accurate electronic case files up-to-date.
  • Schedule Management: Creating and maintaining a weekly schedule, potentially including evenings and weekends, using Microsoft Outlook.

What You'll Need

  • Education: A bachelor's degree from an accredited college in social work, psychology, sociology, or a related human service field. (Consideration will be given to other degrees with at least four years of experience working directly with families in the child welfare system.)
  • Transportation: A valid driver's license and access to a private vehicle to transport yourself and others, ensuring you meet state requirements for car insurance.
  • Tech Skills: Familiarity with Microsoft Outlook.

Nice-to-Have

  • Experience providing home-based support.
  • Experience working with those in the juvenile probation system.
  • Experience teaching curriculums in group settings.
