The Role 💼

As IT Director, you will spearhead the enhancement, execution, and deployment of Workday Sourcing, Procurement, Supply Chain, Expenses, and Settlement applications. You'll leverage your proven Workday application deployment expertise to advise the business on strategies, options, and risks, recommending solutions to achieve P2P (Procure-to-Pay) goals.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the performance management of your team, including hiring, training, evaluation, promotion, and termination decisions.
  • Manage daily operations and guide your staff to meet departmental goals.
  • Take the lead on campus-wide initiatives related to computer support services.
  • Develop, promote, and maintain standards for technical support services and devices, including manufacturing and architectural standards.
  • Design improved work systems by updating work standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Direct and manage project planning, risk assessment, communication, budget tracking, status reporting, vendor management, and project completion.
  • Guide support staff on departmental missions, ensuring project prioritization, and developing dashboard and reporting mechanisms.
  • Oversee enterprise-wide IT projects, ensuring efficient and timely completion.
  • Contribute to strategic planning and provide short- and long-term solutions for campus-wide initiatives.
  • Communicate effectively with administration and staff on service delivery.
  • Investigate inquiries, complaints, and problems.
  • Help determine critical milestones and improve operations, overseeing productivity reports.
  • Set departmental goals, identify areas for improvement, and implement action plans.
  • Stay current on technological advancements through professional development.
  • Establish and assess the effectiveness of internal controls, ensuring compliance with University policies.
  • Ensure employee training on controls and University policies.

Department-Specific Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the P2P Subject Matter Expert (SME), focusing on process improvement and industry best practices in sourcing, procurement, accounts payable, cash & settlement, T&E expenses, and financial systems optimization.
  • Identify, obtain, and process critical data (e.g., benchmarks) to drive innovation in procurement functions.
  • Diagnose, document, and resolve complex P2P issues from functional, administrative, and operational perspectives.
  • Participate in EBS projects focusing on P2P strategy, support, and ERP optimization related to IT operations, business processes, security, and data integrity for Workday applications.
  • Review and map P2P business processes, advising the business on available Workday application services.
  • Communicate findings to senior management.
  • Conduct business analysis and create clear, comprehensive functional requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Required: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Information Technology, or a related field. Minimum 7 years of experience in healthcare or higher education, with at least 5 years in Workday Procure-to-Pay (P2P) systems.
  • Preferred: Workday Financials, Procurement, and/or CPA certification.
  • Proven ability to direct, manage, implement, and evaluate department operations.
  • Demonstrated ability to set departmental goals and objectives aligned with strategic plans.
  • Strong skills in planning, delegating, and supervising the work of others.
  • Excellent leadership, motivation, development, and training skills.
