Responsibilities

  • Act as Key Account Executive for Kaiser Health, serving as the main champion for Kaiser Health and setting the direction for AbbVie’s market access goals.
  • Provide oversight of account activities and act as the main contact for the customer, making sure AbbVie’s portfolio strategy matches organizational goals.
  • Develop and put into action focused account market access strategies.
  • Create and use account knowledge to find key people who have influence within the account.
  • Evaluate new account trends and adjust engagement plans to make market access better for key brands across the portfolio.
  • Serve as the lead negotiator for all direct customer contracts for the AbbVie portfolio, making sure they follow AbbVie’s Market Access (MAx) strategy and goals.
  • Maintain strong relationships with the account, managing daily interactions.
  • Proactively find and fix problems.
  • Make sure solutions are put into action on time and keep the Director of Government Accounts informed of important developments or issues that need attention.
  • Work closely with internal groups like Payer Strategy, Area Directors, BUs, FRMs, MOSLs, and Patient Support Services to share ideas, handle unexpected challenges, and make pull-through efforts smooth for customers.
  • Find new chances within the Kaiser account, suggesting initiatives to increase access, deepen customer relationships, and promote AbbVie’s portfolio.
  • Stay informed about industry trends and competitor actions to adjust strategies as needed.
  • Monitor and report on key performance indicators, making sure account goals are met or exceeded.
  • Use data analysis, like MABI, to check how well contracts are working, guide future actions, and constantly improve overall performance and pull-through.

Significant Work Activities

  • Continuous sitting for more than 2 consecutive hours in an 8-hour day.
  • Required travel to on-site customer locations.
  • Required travel 3 to 4 times to AbbVie's Chicago Headquarters.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Life Sciences, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of sales management experience, District Manager or Regional Manager preferred.
  • Account management and/or marketing experience in healthcare or a related business.
  • 2+ years of experience in account management within a Group Practice, Payor, or Institutional setting is strongly preferred.
  • Proven ability to work well in a large, complex area and influence different stakeholders to get results.
  • Proven skill in contract negotiation, stakeholder engagement, and driving commercial results.
  • Demonstrated ability to act as the main point of contact, using strong communication, collaboration, and coordination skills to manage cross-functional teams in a matrixed organization effectively.
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% domestically.
  • Must be located within the US, and ideally near a large airport.

Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have)

  • Advanced degree, such as MBA or MPH.
  • Deep knowledge of regional payer systems, healthcare policies, and key customer types like IDNs, VISNs, and Employers.
  • Skill in data analysis and experience using tools or platforms to guide strategy and decision-making.
  • A positive, problem-focused attitude with a history of managing complexity in changing situations.

  • Compensation Disclosure: The base pay range described below is what the Company believes it will pay for this role at the time of posting, based on the job grade. Actual pay within this range will depend on many factors, including geographic location. This range may change later.
