πŸš€ About the Role

As a Lead Data Engineer, you'll be instrumental in helping Hakkoda's clients optimize their data usage. You'll be part of a team focused on providing Snowflake administration services, including break-fix management, monitoring, enhancement backlogs, and troubleshooting. You'll also play a key role in creating innovative data and analytic solutions. A key aspect of this role involves measuring and optimizing system performance for continuous improvement. Mentorship and coaching of other team members is also expected.

🎯 Responsibilities

  • Provide primary operational support and engineering for multiple large-scale distributed software applications.
  • Design and develop data warehouses (experience with Teradata, Oracle Exadata, Netezza, SQL Server, or Spark is a plus).
  • Build ETL/ELT ingestion pipelines using tools like DataStage, Informatica, or Matillion.
  • Demonstrate advanced SQL knowledge, including query tuning and plan analysis.
  • Work with data visualization tools.
  • Contribute to business intelligence/data analytics initiatives.
  • Proactively identify problems, performance bottlenecks, and areas for improvement.
  • Monitor production environments, ensuring system health.
  • Manage people and agile projects.
  • Collaborate with clients to understand their needs.
  • Work with internal and client teams to prevent incidents and ensure smooth system operation.

πŸ’ͺ Requirements

  • Essential:Β Bachelor's degree in Data Analytics, Computer Science, MIS, Mathematics, or a related field; 4+ years in related technical roles, with 1+ year in management or team leadership; experience hiring, developing, and managing a technical team; advanced knowledge of SQL and tuning; experience with data visualization tools; business intelligence/data analytics experience; Snowflake or AWS cloud experience; advanced English.
  • Preferred:Β Experience with Azure and GCP; Python expertise and experience applying modern data science languages; experience with DataStage, Informatica, and Matillion.
