About the Role
This is a hybrid role based in Lisbon, Portugal. You'll be part of our Enterprise Data & Analytics team, a high-performing group focused on building a powerful analytics foundation for Zendesk. You'll be using your expertise in machine learning and AWS to design, develop, and maintain our cloud-based machine learning infrastructure.
What you'll do:

Design and Develop: Build and maintain our cloud-based machine learning infrastructure in AWS, ensuring scalability, performance, and security.

Data Pipelines: Implement and manage data pipelines and machine learning workflows using tools like Astronomer, dbt, Snowflake, and AWS.

Collaboration: Work closely with data scientists and machine learning engineers to containerize and deploy ML models effectively.

Automation & Monitoring: Develop automation and monitoring tools to keep our ML systems running smoothly.

Optimization: Optimize data storage and compute resources for ML workloads to ensure cost-effectiveness.

Compliance: Ensure compliance with data governance and security policies throughout the ML model lifecycle.

Continuous Improvement: Contribute to the ongoing improvement of our MLOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines for machine learning models.

Stay Up-to-Date: Keep up with the latest developments in AWS services, Snowflake capabilities, and the broader ML Ops ecosystem.
What you'll bring:

Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in a machine learning engineering role.

Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

AWS Expertise: Demonstrated expertise in AWS cloud services for AI/ML, including SageMaker, Lambda, EC2, EFS, and similar AWS data services.

Communication: Strong communication skills, both written and oral, with the ability to listen and understand the needs of various business units.

Snowflake: Proven experience working with Snowflake for managing and processing large datasets.

Deliverables: Demonstrated ability to deliver high-quality results on time.

Programming: Proficiency in at least one programming language: Python, Java, Scala, or similar.

MLOps: Experience with MLOps tools and practices, including Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines.
