This senior-level Medical Administrative Clerk position offers a remote work opportunity, providing crucial administrative support to a healthcare team. You'll be a key point of contact for patients, staff, and guests, handling all aspects of patient check-in and providing remote support during clinic closures.
🎯 What You'll Do:

Mastering the Basics: Perform all essential duties outlined in the Medical Administrative Clerk (MAC) job description.

Mentoring & Training: Assist the Administrative Supervisor and Practice Administrator in training new MACs, including orientation and competency development.

Front Office Management: Open the front office daily and handle all associated tasks.

End-of-Day Processes: Complete end-of-day processing, documentation, and deposit preparation.

Problem Solving: Investigate and research complex patient issues, scheduling conflicts, and potential billing problems.

Insurance Expertise: Serve as a subject matter expert on insurance eligibility and coverage.

Workflow Optimization: Monitor telephone and patient registration workflows, identifying and addressing bottlenecks.

Backup Support: Provide backup support for the Administrative Supervisor as needed.

Communication & Escalation: Accurately document, communicate, and escalate patient concerns to site leadership.

Vendor Management: Act as the primary or secondary contact for vendors (housekeeping, lab, security).

IT & Supply Management: Serve as the primary or secondary contact for IT services, equipment inventory, supply orders, and facility management.

Team Development: Analyze team member data, identify professional development needs, and discuss these with the Administrative Supervisor.

Event Support: Support the organization and execution of events, meetings, and team-building activities.

Remote Emergency Support: Provide remote administrative support during clinic closures due to emergencies.

💪 What You'll Need:

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.

Experience: At least one year of experience in registration or front office duties in a dental, physician's office, hospital emergency department, or urgent care setting.

Knowledge: Healthcare office concepts, practices, policies, and procedures; insurance verification procedures; Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook); HIPAA and Joint Commission guidelines and regulations.
