About BCGΒ πŸ’Ό BCG, a pioneer in strategy consulting for over 50 years, continues to push boundaries and redefine the industry. We offer diverse career pathways for top talent to make a real difference in business and society. As a member of our team, you'll benefit from our current work and future direction. We value your authenticity, exceptional work, and strong integrity. In return, we're dedicated to supporting you on your career journey and helping you unlock your full potential to advance the world.

Our Global Services (GS) team provides crucial support to business areas like Finance, Legal, HR, Marketing, and IT. This dynamic group of experts, operators, and specialists, ranging from Partners to entry-level staff, operates across the globe in many countries. Global Services is, in essence, BCG's backbone.

The Role 🀝 Our Global Meetings & Events (M&E) team is all about creating safe and inspiring environments that bring people together to foster deep connections, accelerate skill development, and create a global impact. We work closely with senior leaders, functional and regional event teams, and individual meeting planners across the company to improve the overall event experience, create efficiencies and scale, and reduce risk for all meeting formats (in-person, virtual, and hybrid).

What You'll DoΒ πŸ“ Under the direction of the Meetings & Events Management Senior Director, you'll provide operational expertise and day-of management for medium to large-scale programs, catering to 400 to 3000+ attendees, across all meeting formats, potentially including the bi-annual BCG Worldwide Officer Meeting (WWOM). This role involves building and maintaining strong relationships with internal stakeholders, acting as a partner in innovation, and driving operational excellence. You'll collaborate across various BCG functions to ensure compliance with financial, risk, and legal requirements, ensuring smooth execution and high-quality outcomes for each event.

Specifically, you will:

  • Lead and Manage:Β Guide a team of internal and external BCG resources to deliver high-value, cost-effective, and high-visibility, regional and global events. This includes managing all logistics, contract negotiations, vendor arrangements, budget and team management, and on-site support.
  • Partner Selection & Management:Β Select and manage partners, ideally from the approved M&E supplier list, oversee outsourced elements (like DMCs, production companies, freelancers), and engage with relevant BCG functional experts (Safety & Security, Travel, Design Studios, and Meeting & Events) when needed.
  • Stakeholder Engagement:Β Work with senior leaders and steering committee members to meet their goals and objectives. Serve as the primary contact for internal clients' event needs, offering strategic guidance, operational expertise, and management experience for high-value, high-visibility events across all formats (in-person, virtual, hybrid).
  • Problem Solving & Innovation:Β Approach challenges in a structured way, proactively identifying solutions and understanding their consequences. Bring innovation and creativity to service delivery, while always keeping an eye on improving team efficiency. Document insights and improvements for future events.
  • Team Culture & Collaboration:Β Play a key role in fostering a culture of collaboration, continuous learning, and data-driven insights within the M&E team. Lead by example and promote a customer-focused approach, combining hands-on delivery with effective team deployment.

What You're Good AtΒ πŸ’ͺΒ Technical and Functional Skills:

  • Deep expertise in meeting and event services, including space planning, accommodations, food and beverage, production, and incentive programs.
  • Exceptional project management skills.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities, using critical thinking and analysis to address issues while keeping the big picture in mind.
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Exceptional communication skills (verbal and written). You're a skilled listener and influencer at all levels, including senior leadership.

Work Management and Work Environment:

  • Customer-focused and service-oriented approach.
  • Strong accountability and resourcefulness in identifying and implementing process improvements.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple projects with ambitious deadlines.
  • Belief in the value of transparency and open feedback, striving to empower those around you.
  • Experience thriving in fast-paced environments and remaining calm and practical in demanding situations.
  • Comfort working independently, handling ambiguity, and collaborating with a virtual team in a dynamic, global environment.
  • Experience using data-driven approaches for problem-solving.
  • Strong familiarity with various digital tools and apps, including Trello, Slack, Zoom, and Cvent.

What You BringΒ πŸ’Ό

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Business, Hospitality, Events, or a related field, and/or 6-8+ years of related experience in event management, preferably in a corporate setting.
  • Proven experience in people management, with a strong emphasis on managing distributed global teams.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail, adaptability, and a commitment to teamwork.
