πΒ The Role:
As a Network Engineer in our Solution Test group, you'll be a key player in ensuring the quality of Arista's products. You'll work with large, complex, feature-rich end-to-end environments, focusing on key technologies and emulating the networks of our most important customers.
What You'll Do:
- Collaborate with development, sales, and other test teams to understand needs and expectations.
- Design and build (or expand) network topologies for testing.
- Configure hardware, features, traffic generators, and other tools to create realistic test environments.
- Run thorough tests, focusing on potential weaknesses, performance, and realistic scale.
- Troubleshoot issues, work with the development team on reproduction, root cause analysis, and bug fixes.
- Present results to stakeholders and offer feedback on design and performance improvements.
- Help the sales team and customers with questions, ad-hoc requests, and demos.
- Collaborate with colleagues to share knowledge and improve team effectiveness.
- Assist the TAC team with escalation reproduction efforts as needed.
π―Β What We're Looking For:

Must-haves:
- Master's degree in Telecommunications, Computer Engineering, or Computer Networking.
- 3+ years of experience in system or solution testing of complex end-to-end environments.
- Deep understanding of Layer 2 and Layer 3 technologies (IP forwarding, IP multicast, OSPF, BGP, VXLAN, MPLS, eVPN, ECMP, VRRP, STP, RSTP, MST, PVST+, Ethernet link aggregation, LACP).
- Solid experience with Layer 2/3 switch administration, including standard CLI and SNMP interfaces.
- Familiarity with Linux tools (ping, traceroute, tcpdump, ifconfig, ip link, ip route, arp,Β
/proc/net
,Β /proc/sys/net
, vmstat, netstat, ttcp, iperf, strace).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- A strong desire to improve quality and learn new technologies.
- Ability to work independently and be driven to succeed.
