🚧 The Role This role requires you to be available full-time and possess specific skills related to survey data collection. You'll need a solid understanding of survey equipment, including setup, data acquisition methods, and equipment limitations in relation to project requirements.
🎯 What You'll Do
- Work with a survey crew on construction staking projects.
- Be comfortable working in water.
- Set up, operate, and regularly check the accuracy of survey equipment like data collectors, digital levels, and GPS systems.
- Carry out and verify survey-related calculations.
- Keep clear and organized field notes and sketches for all work performed.
- Handle all aspects of stakeout and location surveys using appropriate equipment.
- Maintain survey equipment and ensure the survey truck has the needed supplies and tools.
- Supervise and coordinate the work of assigned team members.
- Provide guidance and training to personnel in entry-level roles.
- Perform accuracy and calibration checks on the equipment used.
🔎 What We're Looking For
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Survey Party Chief
- Experience with Trimble Access, Trimble Business Center, Trimble robotic total stations, Trimble GPS and related data upload/download processes
- Knowledge of Trimble survey styles, site calibration procedures, and methodology
- Understanding of field procedures for boundary and ALTA/NSPS land title surveys
- Ability to handle all aspects of data collection for different survey types (boundary, topographic, roadway corridor, control, as-built)
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and near traffic.
- Willingness to travel
