A Day in the Life

The Acute Care & Monitoring business works together with the global healthcare community to solve clinically meaningful problems, with technologies and solutions for blood oxygen management, respiratory compromise, and problems during surgery.

We have an exciting chance for a Principal Account Executive to join our Acute Care and Monitoring sales team. In this job, you will drive sales growth and market share by promoting our Respiratory & Monitoring Solutions group to key clinical leaders in the ICU, General Care Floors, and Procedural Sedation departments. This will be an excellent chance for a skilled sales professional. Are you ready to take the next step in your career and write a chapter in our story of innovation?

We are looking for a dedicated professional to join our team. While this is a remote job not located at a physical Medtronic site, the person hired will need to live within the territory and drive to multiple accounts throughout the region. A valid driver's license is needed for this job.

This territory includes central and southern New Jersey, Delaware, and part of Maryland.

The person hired will promote the Acute Care and Monitoring (ACM) group to specialists and clinical/technical professionals. He or she will practice effective territory management in terms of planning, organization, and administration—along with timely and correct expense planning and control.

In this role, you will

  • Actively try to develop and grow your territory using your management and selling skills.
  • Plan and carry out work to reach or go past sales goals and quotas.
  • Be the product expert and give effective teaching and training to all clinical end users and hospital staff for your assigned territory.
  • Gather market information (product, price, promotion, discount, etc.) by watching, talking, or researching, and try to find new business chances.
  • Work alone and as part of the wider team to build and support strong relationships with key opinion leaders.
  • Make sure there is timely follow-up and quick fixing of customer/patient technical and product problems, including support outside of normal work hours when needed.

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree is required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.

Nice to Have

  • Proven sales experience within the healthcare industry is preferred.
  • Clinical experience or a background in selling clinically.
  • Excellent personal interaction and communication skills with the ability to build trust with both internal and external people who have influence.
  • Strong problem-solving skills along with having the patience and persistence to follow through.
  • Highly organized with good time management skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • A driven, self-motivated person who can work well without constant direction.
