💼 The Role The EMEA Regulatory Analysis team, focused on VAT and based in Portugal, Sweden, and Turkey, provides stimulating and demanding legal research within a global environment, specializing in information security and fiscal compliance. We're a team of seven regulatory counsels/specialists across multiple countries, collaborating with other regional Regulatory Analysis teams. Together, we deliver the regulatory insights that power our product suite.

Our work involves global regulatory research across various jurisdictions, mainly concerning electronic invoicing and electronic tax reporting, incorporating tax and information security aspects. We monitor legislative and regulatory changes in our supported regions and analyze their potential effects on our products and services. We work closely with Product Management to make sure our products comply with legal requirements and co-design future software solutions.

What You'll Do:

• Continuously monitor legislative and regulatory developments related to electronic document regulations (e.g., e-invoices and tax reports) in different countries. These relate mainly to indirect tax, accounting, and commercial legislation.
• Assess how regulatory changes affect Sovos' solutions and share detailed, accurate information about these changes with colleagues to implement them in our solutions.
• Explain legal requirements clearly to both internal and external audiences. This includes leading workshops for teams and customers, offering regulatory expertise to customers, drafting regulatory documents, and keeping the market informed through webinars and blog posts.

🔎 What We're Looking For

• Preferred Experience: 1-4 years of experience in one or more of these areas: Indirect Tax Law, VAT, Accounting, or ICT/Information Security/Data Privacy and related legal aspects.
• Education: A bachelor's degree in one of the areas mentioned above (a law degree is a plus).
• Language Skills: Excellent spoken and written English is a must. Additional languages (e.g., Chinese, French, German, Hungarian, Italian, Arabic, Turkish, Portuguese, Spanish) are a significant plus.
• Skills: Strong analytical skills, a focus on accuracy, and the ability to clearly and concisely communicate information. We value teamwork and collaboration.
