Job Summary: 👩‍⚕️

As an ER Registered Nurse, you'll be responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive plans of care for diverse patients of all ages. Your profound understanding of anatomy and physiology, educational information, and psychosocial dynamics will enable you to cater to the unique needs of both patients and their families. You'll strive to prioritize safety, education, and adequate rest as fundamental principles in your care approach. Furthermore, you'll exercise sound judgment to ensure that your plans of care are appropriate for the patient's clinical area of need. Essential Qualifications: 📚
  • Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing is a prerequisite.
  • We prefer candidates with one year of med-surgical nursing experience.
Required Licensure, Certification, and Registration: 📝
  • Registered Nurse licensure from the State of North Carolina is mandatory.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification is essential.
  • You'll need to obtain Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification within 1 year of employment for Adult Critical Care and Adult ED roles.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification is required within 1 year of employment for Network ED, Peds ED, PICU, NICU, and other areas as specified by unit guidelines.

  • Provide patient-centered care using the nursing process, addressing physical, emotional, spiritual, cultural, religious, and environmental needs. This involves patient assessment, nursing diagnosis, outcome identification, planning, implementing interventions, coordinating care, health education and promotion, and evaluating goals and interventions as per WFBMC policies.
  • Ensure a safe, therapeutic, and healing environment by safeguarding patient privacy and consistently demonstrating responsive, respectful, accepting, and professional behavior.
  • Utilize and promote the effective use of technology and equipment to enhance patient and staff safety.
  • Foster effective communication to facilitate information sharing throughout the continuum of care and function seamlessly as a valuable member of the healthcare team.
  • Demonstrate professionalism by actively participating in a professional practice model, including shared governance, adherence to standards of care, engagement in peer review and professional development, promotion of leadership and clinical excellence, effective teamwork, autonomous practice, and acknowledgment of accountability for actions and critical thinking.
  • Conduct and maintain competency in assigned point-of-care testing (waived or non-waived), ensuring compliance with WFBH policies as well as applicable state and federal regulations.
  • Advocate for patient well-being throughout the continuum of care, encompassing all patient settings and community involvement.
  • Orchestrate efficient and effective delivery of patient care services by applying care management principles. Identify clinical priorities and promptly take action to enhance patient outcomes.
  • Exemplify professional practice through active involvement in shared governance, fostering a positive work environment and embracing personal responsibility for professional growth.
