๐Ÿš€ Purpose of the Role

The Sales Operations Manager will play a key role in overseeing and optimizing the sales forecasting processes, working hand-in-hand with the sales team to provide revenue and unit forecasts as part of SMARTโ€™s regular forecasting schedule. You'll also be responsible for making the sales team more efficient and effective by creating, improving, and maintaining reports and analytics across SMARTโ€™s Unified Commercial Engine (UCE), collaborating closely with SMARTโ€™s data and science team. In this role, you'll be a champion of our mission to be a data and systems-driven organization. We're looking for someone with strong interpersonal skills, solid technical and data analysis abilities, experience creating demand plans in a S&OP process, and a natural curiosity that drives them to spot trends and promote new opportunities.

๐Ÿ’ผ What You'll Do

Sales Forecasting and Analysis:

  • Lead the creation, implementation, and ongoing improvement of the S&OP process.
  • Use data from Salesforce.com, PowerBI, Microsoft Dynamics, and other tools to create and enhance reports that allow for in-depth analysis and data-driven decisions.
  • Use historical data, market trends, and customer insights to develop accurate sales forecasts.
  • Clearly communicate insights to stakeholders, using excellent communication and interpersonal skills to ensure the desired impact.
  • Keep an eye on sales performance metrics and analyze differences to find areas for improvement.
  • Track inventory levels against forecast accuracy and work with procurement teams to ensure products are restocked on time.
  • Work closely with SMART's Data Science and Operations team to make sure UCE reporting is providing relevant and accurate information. Drive and inform process and system changes to improve data quality.

Order Management Involvement:

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:ย Work closely with sales, marketing, finance, production, and logistics teams to make sure sales forecasts align with production schedules, inventory levels, and distribution plans.
  • Find ways to streamline processes, improve efficiency, and enhance overall performance in sales and order planning functions.
  • Solve important problems that help sales representatives give timely solutions to their customers while maximizing revenue.
  • Keep up-to-date on industry trends, new technologies, and best practices in sales and operations planning to drive continuous improvement efforts.
  • Assist and lead projects as needed.
  • Other duties as needed.

๐ŸŽ“ Education and Experience

  • 5 years of experienceย in a related position.
  • Proven experience in Sales Operations, Revenue Operations, and/or Business Analytics, ideally in a fast-paced environment.
  • BA/BS in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • Experience with a CRM Platform (Salesforce.com), BI Platform (PowerBI), Microsoft Dynamics, and planning tools.
  • Strong analytical skills (including Microsoft Excel) and experience with reporting and data analysis. Demonstrated data analytics ability to critically review performance data and draw constructive conclusions.
  • Self-starter with a high attention to detailย who wants to understand results and drive improvements.
  • Excels at multitasking and thrives in a fast-paced environment.
  • Technically capable, an excellent communicator, and a desire to improve reporting and analytics.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with proven follow-through to ensure issues are fully resolved.
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize and adjust workload to meet deadlines.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

  • This role can be a hybrid or fully remote role.
  • The right candidate can live in Florida, New Jersey, Connecticut, Georgia, Ohio, North Carolina, Virginia, or Eastern Canada.
  • Internally, the title for this role will be Sales Operations Analyst.
