Position Scope

The Senior Account Executive is responsible for finding and going after new business chances, building relationships with potential clients, and driving overall company growth by developing plans to grow market reach and create new income sources for medium voltage, high voltage, and BESS construction projects in the Data Center/ Mission Critical market.

Location & Travel

This is a Remote job with up to 50% travel.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Do thorough market research to find potential new clients, market changes, and look at competitors to find chances for growth.
  • Actively find and qualify leads through networking, cold calling, email campaigns, and industry events.
  • Establish and grow long-term relationships with key decision-makers at potential clients, understanding their needs and problems.
  • Create convincing proposals and presentations made for each client's specific needs, showing the value of the company's products or services.
  • Negotiate contracts and pricing terms to close deals and reach sales goals.
  • Manage existing client relationships, making sure customers are happy and finding chances to sell more to them or sell them different products.
  • Develop accurate sales forecasts and track performance against goals.
  • Help develop and carry out overall business development plans that match company goals.
  • Actively take part in industry events, conferences, and associations to build brand awareness and find new leads.
  • Look over initial project chance requests for proposals (RFPs) and work with Estimators to get bid proposals ready for clients.
  • Ask for quotes and proposals from subcontractors and vendors, and review those quotes and proposals to make sure they follow project requirements.

Education and Work Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or relevant experience.
  • Experience working with contacts in the Data Center / Mission Critical markets and knowledge of market changes.
  • Experience with Microsoft 365 Suite.
  • Knowledge and experience with medium voltage and/or high voltage substations, collection systems, transmission lines, and/or BESS is preferred.

  • Ability to travel up to 50% for client visits, project meetings, and/or contract talks.
  • Must be hardworking, passionate, curious, and willing to do any task that is needed (even if not listed above).
  • Strong Communication Skills: Great verbal and written communication skills to effectively present ideas and build trust with clients.
  • Sales Acumen: Proven history of successful sales experience, including lead qualification, handling objections, and closing methods.
  • Market Knowledge: Deep understanding of the utility industry, market dynamics, and the competitive setting.
  • Analytical Skills: Ability to look closely at market data and find potential business chances.
  • Presentation Skills: Confidence in giving convincing presentations to potential clients.
  • Business Acumen: Understanding of business operations, financial analysis, and income drivers.
