About the Role 🕵️‍♀️

We're looking for a talented and experienced Senior Business Data Analyst to join our growing team. In this role, you'll be a key player in driving data-driven decisions, challenging teams to optimize their business areas, and validating our best growth strategies. You'll be responsible for supporting top-level decisions using data. We expect you to handle data preparation and activities to support business intelligence (BI). You'll identify specific information for the business, present your findings in a clear and intuitive way, and push the management team to improve performance.

What You'll Do 📝

  • Data Analysis and Interpretation:
    • Lead the analysis of large datasets to uncover actionable insights and trends.
    • Translate complex data findings into easy-to-understand and engaging narratives for stakeholders.
  • Business Intelligence:
    • Develop and maintain effective business intelligence dashboards and reports for key stakeholders.
    • Offer strategic recommendations based on data analysis to meet business goals.
  • Data Modeling and Forecasting:
    • Design and implement advanced statistical models to predict business trends and outcomes.
    • Work with cross-functional teams to create data-driven strategies for growth and efficiency.
  • Data Quality and Governance:
    • Set up and maintain data quality standards, ensuring data integrity across the organization.
    • Partner with Product teams to improve data storage, retrieval, and processing capabilities.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:
    • Collaborate with departments like Marketing, Finance, and Operations to understand their data needs and provide actionable insights.
    • Serve as a bridge between technical and non-technical teams to ensure clear communication and understanding of data-related requirements.
  • Continuous Improvement:
    • Stay updated on industry trends, new technologies, and best practices in data analysis.
    • Actively look for opportunities to enhance processes and automate the data analysis workflow.
  • Team Leadership and Mentorship:
    • Guide and mentor junior data analysts on the team.
    • Cultivate a collaborative and innovative environment that promotes knowledge sharing and professional growth.

A Typical Day Might Look Like 📅

  • Work with stakeholders to define key performance indicators (KPIs) and gather business needs for reporting.
  • Create design specifications for new reports and dashboards.
  • Test reports to ensure a great user experience and data quality.
  • Investigate and solve data discrepancies and inconsistencies, helping to address the root causes.
  • Create and modify dashboards and reports using BI tools based on project needs.
  • Build queries to answer specific questions, as well as complete independent ad-hoc requests, verifying data and working with other departments.
  • Focus on understanding the relationships within the data and the business's key performance indicators.

What We're Looking For 🔎

  • Experience & Education:
    • At least 3 years of proven experience.
    • Relevant educational background.
    • Strong and demonstrable problem-solving skills.
    • Creative and critical thinking skills.
    • Hands-on, "get-it-done" mindset.
    • Results-oriented with high levels of determination.
    • Fluent in English.
  • Preferred Tools Knowledge:
    • Excellent Excel or Google Sheets skills.
    • Experience with Tableau and SQL is a must.
    • Knowledge of a BI tool.
    • Experience with data analysis using Python or R is a plus.
    • Knowledge of data warehousing concepts would be beneficial.

Additional Information ℹ️

  • This is a remote role based in Portugal, with the option to work from the office.
  • You must be available to work 40 hours per week.
