About the Role
- We are looking for a Game Designer with strong experience in the casino and card games industry.
- This person can think up and develop new game ideas, working closely with people in Asia and internal teams to deliver high-quality gaming experiences.
- This job needs a deep understanding of casino game mechanics, the ability to connect business and design teams, and skill in creating fun gameplay while matching market needs and cultural themes.
- You will be responsible for defining new game mechanics, making existing ones better, and working with art and User Interface/User Experience (UI/UX) teams to make these ideas real.
- The ideal candidate will have a strong way of thinking based on analysis, creative ways to solve problems, and a love for casino gaming.
Key Responsibilities
Game Concept & Design
- Develop and present new game ideas and mechanics made for casino and card game markets.
- Create game design documents (GDDs) that explain game flow, features, and mechanics.
- Make sure game design matches business goals, engagement targets, and ways to earn money.
Stakeholder Collaboration
- Work closely with stakeholders based in Asia to get requirements and refine game concepts.
- Present and explain game ideas to business leaders, marketing teams, and product managers.
- Act as the connection between the design team and Asian stakeholders, making sure communication is smooth and everyone agrees.
Game Mechanics & Balancing
- Design fun and mathematically correct game mechanics, making them better for player involvement and keeping players coming back.
- Work with data analysts to look at player behavior and carefully adjust game balance.
- Create new things for existing casino games by adding unique mechanics, features, and ways to reward players.
Art & UX Collaboration
- Work with the Art and UI/UX teams to develop interfaces that look good and are easy to use.
- Make sure game looks match the themes (for example, Lunar New Year, Caribbean themes).
- Give feedback on game pictures, moving parts, and the steps players take.
Market Research & Industry Trends
- Stay current on casino gaming trends, competitor games, and what players like.
- Understand rules and compliance limits that affect game design in different markets.
- Examine player feedback and market results to make changes to existing games.
Requirements
- More than 5 years of experience in game design, especially in casino, card games, or iGaming.
- Being fluent in both Mandarin and English (speaking and writing) is required.
- Deep understanding of casino game mechanics, card games (for example, Hold’em, Stud), and sweepstakes models.
- Experience in game balancing, Return to Player (RTP) calculations, and ways to earn money.
- Strong ability to sell ideas and explain design choices to people who have a stake in the outcome.
- Excellent teamwork skills, with the ability to get many teams (Design, Art, UX, Product, Marketing, and Asia-based stakeholders) working together.
Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have)
- Skill in game design tools such as Figma, Miro, Unity, or similar tools is a plus.
- Experience in Asia's casino and card game markets is very wanted.
