The Role: 💼

As our Senior Grants Accountant, you'll be a key player in overseeing all sponsored programs (grants) at the university. Your responsibilities include:

• Setting up, monitoring, and reconciling grant funds and related administrative costs.
• Ensuring compliance with grant terms, matching requirements, federal regulations, and internal policies.
• Creating financial reports.
• Updating policies and procedures as needed.
• Reviewing internal controls related to grant fund obligations.
• Maintaining strong relationships with sponsor agencies and auditors.
• Collaborating closely with the Director of Grants and Foundations Relations and the Grant Management Associate.

What We're Looking For: 🔎

• Essential Qualifications: A strong understanding of grant accounting principles and practices is essential. You should be comfortable navigating federal regulations and internal policies. Experience with financial systems software and databases is a must.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with payroll processing and knowledge of specific regulations (like OMB Guidance for Federal Financial Assistance and Uniform Guidance OMB 2 CFR 200) is highly valued. Familiarity with grant compliance and sponsor-specific policies (NSF, NIH, Department of Education, Department of Justice) is a plus. Experience with higher education accounting systems is also preferred. Proficiency in using financial systems software and databases to create analytical reports is needed.
