Senior Instrumentation & Controls Engineer (Remote)

🏢 About the Role:

This role involves working on major process controls engineering projects for nuclear power plant upgrades and modifications. You'll be a key player in modernizing power plant control systems, transitioning to new digital technologies.

🚀 What You'll Do:

• Contribute to digital systems projects (PLCs, DCS, touchscreen displays, network switches, and control systems).
• Develop functional requirements and procurement specifications for instrumentation and control systems in nuclear power plants.
• Create process instrumentation replacement evaluation reports and nuclear modification packages.
• Design mechatronic and control systems for various plant components (pumps, valves, heat exchangers, steam turbines, and reactors).
• Collaborate with clients through meetings and site visits.
• Mentor junior engineers in nuclear instrumentation and controls design.

✅ What You'll Need:

• Essential: BS or MS in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program, with coursework in instrumentation, mechatronics, and process controls design engineering. Minimum 5 years of experience in process control systems design engineering; nuclear power plant experience preferred.
• Experience: Controls system design (low and medium voltage distribution systems, equipment controls – turbines, pumps, feedwater control, data displays). Power plant instrumentation and controls systems design (BWR or PWR reactors, including DCS for turbine, control, feedwater control, and data display). Proficiency in reviewing design drawings. Knowledge of available equipment and pre-engineered systems.
