The Role 💼

As Senior Manager, you'll spearhead the strategy and execution of a technical roadmap for VDI, boosting product delivery speed and unlocking new engineering capabilities. You'll work closely with engineering staff to innovate, build, and enhance VDI solutions, resolving critical operational challenges.

Responsibilities 🎯

• Collaborate with your Director to manage project dependencies, negotiate delivery dates, and ensure on-time project completion.
• Proactively identify and address project risks, proposing effective solutions.
• Assess the impact of requirements and design choices on various systems.
• Report on team progress, identifying areas for improvement in product or project delivery.
• Conduct performance evaluations and cultivate a high-achieving team culture.
• Build strong team relationships based on trust and mutual respect.
• Foster a growth mindset, encouraging knowledge sharing and learning new technologies.
• Address skill gaps and develop remediation plans.
• Effectively manage performance conversations.
• Develop persuasive arguments to drive projects enhancing processes, cost leadership, and customer experience.
• Provide feedback to leadership and manage upward effectively.
• Administer coaching and performance improvement plans.
• Create compliant, high-quality documentation.
• Manage warning administration and involuntary terminations according to policy.
• Develop and manage the team budget, reporting regularly on results.
• Contribute significantly to team planning, incorporating associate-level proposals.

What We're Looking For 🔎

Required Skills & Experience:

• Extensive experience with Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI): VMware Horizon, Azure Virtual Desktop.
• Basic UI/UX and prototyping skills.
• Proven experience in digital experimentation and web analytics for online customer experience optimization.
• Knowledge of DTM tagging, including implementation design and rule sets.
• Experience with Metadata management tools (Microsoft Purview, Collibra, Alation, Informatica, etc.).
• Solid understanding of cloud computing (SaaS, PaaS, IaaS).
• Working knowledge of object-oriented development, GOF Design Patterns, Microservices, Dependency Injection, and unit testing (front-end and back-end).
• Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies.
• Strong Cloud platform knowledge (AWS, GCP, Azure).
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite (PowerPoint, Outlook, Word, WebEx).
• Proficiency in project and work item management tools (Azure DevOps, Portfolio).
• Proficiency in program management tools (MS Project, Visio, Excel).
• Strong foundation in algorithms, data structures, and computer science concepts.
• Experience with operational portals like Azure Portal.
• Fluency with .NET, HTML-5, JavaScript/TypeScript, XML, JSON, RESTful Web Services, and Event-Driven Architectures.
• Fluency in at least one modern language (Python, Java, Go); open-source experience a plus.
• Experience with application monitoring tools and performance assessments.
• Experience with PowerShell Scripting.
• Ability to construct, interpret, and apply metrics to drive prioritization and action.

Preferred Experience:

• 6+ years of coding experience.
• 5+ years of development in a large-scale, mission-critical environment.
• 5+ years supervising technical personnel.
• 2+ years of experience with automated testing (Unit, Integration, End-to-End).

Education:

• Bachelor's degree in information technology or a related field, or equivalent experience.
