🚀 The Role

We're searching for a skilled Senior Search Engineer to join our team! You'll be a key player in building a two-sided marketplace for the chemical industry—a sector responsible for a significant portion of global GDP.

What You'll Do:

• 💻 Architect and implement our specialized search engine (https://www.knowde.com/search).
• 🧠 Make crucial architectural decisions regarding efficient data ingestion, data structures, API contracts, and result scoring.
• 🛠️ Maintain existing search features and develop new ones.
• 📊 Generate and monitor key UX metrics.
• 🛡️ Enhance service resilience and search performance.

What We're Looking For:

• 👨‍💻 Proven experience delivering functional software with a product-focused approach.
• ☕ Solid Java expertise (several years of experience).
• 🔎 Experience implementing a search engine or a strong desire to learn.
• ⚙️ Experience with FTS engines like ElasticSearch.
• ☁️ Experience building cloud-based systems on AWS or a similar provider.

Nice-to-Haves:

• 🎓 A Computer Science degree or related field.
• 🤓 Understanding of distributed systems and their potential challenges.
