🎯 The Role

We're searching for a seasoned and growth-minded Senior Underwriter, E&S Casualty to join our team in Phoenix, Arizona. You'll play a pivotal role in growing and maintaining a profitable book of business, fostering strong relationships with wholesale brokers, and delivering coverage solutions that meet our clients' needs.

💪 What You'll Do

  • Cultivate and nurture relationships with wholesale brokers to market and sell Ascot's products.
  • Underwrite and negotiate complex customer accounts to minimize risk and maximize profitability.
  • Work independently and within delegated underwriting authority, making referrals as needed.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and internal partners across different areas to identify opportunities for cross-selling, contribute to product development, and enhance operational excellence.
  • Provide outstanding service to brokers and clients, consistently engaging with trading partners.
  • Stay updated on competitive landscapes, underwriting environments, and market conditions, sharing insights with your team and leaders.
  • Take on other duties as assigned.

🔎 What We're Looking For

  • A Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
  • At least 5 years of underwriting experience within the P&C insurance industry, with a focus on General Liability and Excess Liability preferred.
  • A deep understanding of insurance products, regulations, and the insurance industry.
  • Strong collaborative skills and ability to excel in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial setting.
  • Exceptional organizational, time management, and prioritization skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • A positive and self-motivated attitude, paired with strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Robust technical, analytical, and quantitative capabilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with the ability to successfully navigate challenging negotiations with agents and brokers.
  • A solution-oriented approach and a strong relationship management skillset, adept at working with both internal and external stakeholders and customers.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • ASLI, CPCU, ARM, or other relevant professional certifications are a plus but not required.
  • Willingness to travel 10-15% of the time.

💰 Compensation

The base pay for this role can vary depending on experience, skills, and expertise. In addition to the base salary, Ascot offers a comprehensive compensation package that may include an annual cash bonus, long-term incentives, and other forms of discretionary compensation.
