The Role: ⚙️

As a Back-end Engineer on our Engines team, you'll be a key player in designing, developing, and maintaining our core search engine. You'll ensure top performance and scalability, collaborating with other teams to resolve critical issues and participate in on-call rotations.

What You'll Do:

• Contribute significantly to the design, development, and operation of our large-scale search engine system.
• Maintain the system's quality and reliability.
• Collaborate with other teams to identify and solve high-impact problems.
• Take responsibility for Algolia Search operations, including on-call duties.

What We're Looking For:

• Strong Computer Science fundamentals (data structures, algorithms, software design).
• Commitment to high code quality, automated testing, and engineering best practices.
• Experience with complex C++ codebases and distributed backends.
• Experience designing major system components and guiding engineers.
• Excellent written and spoken English.

Bonus Points: 👍

• Experience debugging distributed systems in production.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes.
• Experience with information retrieval or AI models.
• Experience with natural language processing challenges.
