🤝 The Role

As an Alzheimer's Disease Ecosystem Manager (AEM), you'll serve as the bridge between our key customers in the Alzheimer's therapeutic area and various Lilly functions and leadership. You'll collaborate with customers at all levels to enhance patient care through innovative approaches. You'll be part of a strong, cross-functional team that integrates Sales, Marketing, Medical, Key Account Management (KAM), and External Engagement, guiding the planning and execution of Alzheimer's account activities.

🎯 What You'll Do

  • Ecosystem Mapping & Design: Map and design the Alzheimer's disease ecosystem, specifically focusing on key accounts, their diagnostic environment, and referral networks.
  • Patient Flow Mapping: Map and document the ecosystems for AD diagnosis and therapy, encompassing patient flow from identification to therapy monitoring. (e.g., stakeholder diagnostics & therapy, CSF, PET, and MRI capabilities, referral networks including hospitals, specialists, and primary care physicians).
  • Pathway & Protocol Design: Design diagnostic algorithms, therapy pathways, and protocols for patient flow in key accounts, including referral pathways for diagnostics (e.g., case history, cognition measurement, MRI, CSF, and PET) and therapy (e.g., infusion capacity and monitoring).
  • Infusion Capacity Solutions: If there are infusion capacity shortages, work with providers to develop local solutions and services.
  • Partnership Development: Develop and manage partnerships to improve the respective ecosystem (e.g., PET tracer, blood diagnostics, and CSF providers, including laboratories).

👨‍💼 Customers & Accounts

  • Relationship Management: Establish and cultivate strong, lasting relationships with key organized customers in the therapeutic area.
  • Product Optimization: Ensure the optimal use of Lilly products in Alzheimer's therapy and proactively discover and implement opportunities to increase usage.
  • Customer Needs Identification: Systematically identify customer needs and incorporate customer insights and corresponding value solutions into customer planning and strategy development.
  • Innovative Project Development: Collaborate closely with individual customers to develop innovative projects and value-added programs that align customer needs, patient care improvement, and Lilly's strategic interests in this therapeutic area.
  • Program Design & Rollout: Design scalable value-added programs and roll them out within the Key Account Management organization.

🤝 Account Management

  • Cross-Functional Mindset: Foster a cross-functional mindset within the account team.
  • Account Planning Leadership: Lead, coordinate, and execute the account planning process for the Alzheimer's portfolio with the cross-functional account team. This includes colleagues with direct customer contact in Sales and Medical, and all relevant inside sales functions, as well as senior management.
  • Account Reviews: Schedule, prepare, and execute account reviews with management and senior management stakeholders.
  • Data Analysis & Strategy: Analyze and evaluate all relevant account data and derive strategic conclusions and action instructions.
  • Action Execution: Ensure planned actions in the Account Plan are executed through effective leadership.
  • Account Management Tool Ownership: Take ownership of using the account management tool.

  • Healthcare Market Understanding: Possess a strong understanding of healthcare market and policy developments and their influence on customers.
  • Neurology/Alzheimer's Disease Knowledge: Deep understanding of structures and processes in the neurology/Alzheimer's disease therapeutic area, with a particular focus on hospitals, medical care centers, and network structures.
  • Complex Client Structures: Deep understanding of processes and interrelationships in complex client structures that affect drug utilization decisions.
  • Senior Management Communication: Confidently interact and communicate with senior management, both internally and externally.

💼 Experience

  • Key Account Management: Minimum 5 years of experience in a key account management role within the pharmaceutical, biomedical, or medical device industry, with responsibility for hospitals and other organized customer groups or equivalent experience.
  • Lateral Leadership: Proven ability to effectively lead cross-functional teams laterally.
  • Project Management: Demonstrated success in managing large projects with internal stakeholders and customers, from planning through implementation.

🎓 Qualifications

  • Master's Degree/Diploma: Master's degree or diploma in Pharmacy, Life Sciences, Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.
