About the Role
This role is with the Department of Health Care Finance, supporting the DC Access System (DCAS). As the Sr Project Manager - Continuous Improvement, you'll be a key player in driving operational excellence and sustainable improvements.
What You'll Do
- Manage the planning and execution of quality/improvement efforts.
- Align initiatives with the organization's strategic goals and timelines.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve project goals.
- Manage a portfolio of projects focused on reducing waste and enhancing quality.
- Identify process bottlenecks, redundancy, and disconnects.
- Conduct regular release meetings with various DCAS teams to ensure timely product delivery.
- Ensure follow-up on improvement events, including scheduling and ongoing status reviews.
- Drive a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.
- Deliver and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) like Waste Reduction, Efficiency Improvements, and Quality Pass Rate.
- Lead the management and reporting of large, complex initiatives through a team of program leaders.
- Develop roadmaps and plans/timelines, and contribute to staffing decisions.
- Collaborate with department managers and directors to prioritize work and assign resources.
- Maintain and enhance project governance, roles, responsibilities, and outcomes.
- Deliver value by managing a portfolio of work while providing strategic alignment for the PMO.
- Maintain consistent communication and project tracking for stakeholders.
- Collaborate with vendors and stakeholders to manage expectations and reduce confusion.
- Ensure consistent reporting and daily management cadence, including key stakeholder roles and responsibilities.
- Monitor compliance with project management standards, policies, and procedures.
- Lead project management transformation and change management initiatives.
- Serve as an escalation point for direct reports, senior management, and directors.
- Apply project management methodologies, best practices, and standards.
What We're Looking For

Proven Track Record: Experience in successful SDLC completion.

Project Management Expertise: Strong understanding and ability to implement project management methodologies.

Vendor Management: Proven experience in vendor management.

District Knowledge: Familiarity with DC government policies and procedures.

Health Experience: Preferred experience in a health or healthcare finance environment.
