What We're Looking For

We're looking for a passionate and experienced Sr Transportation Safety Risk Engineer to join our Large Casualty Risk Engineering team. This role is ideally positioned within the Southern U.S. and offers the flexibility of working from home with up to 50% travel.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in transportation safety.
  • Perform field engineering risk assessments and risk improvement services for prospect and bound accounts.
  • Provide engineering support to underwriting teams and attend client/broker meetings.
  • Manage account risk portfolios and provide account-level engineering to meet underwriting requirements.
  • Deliver advanced casualty consultative services to customers, identify exposures with significant loss potential, investigate the cause/effect of major losses, and review/assess casualty management program effectiveness.
  • Develop and implement customer service strategies to reduce losses and improve customer operations.
  • Monitor casualty account engineering services to ensure timely, cost-effective, and proper delivery.
  • Assist in marketing Zurich Resilience Solutions and risk transfer insurance products in conjunction with underwriting professionals and agents across company business segments.
Qualifications

Consultant:
  • Bachelor's Degree and 3+ years of experience in Transportation Safety and/or Casualty Risk Engineering.
  • OR High School Diploma or Equivalent and 5+ years of experience in Transportation Safety and/or Casualty Risk Engineering.
  • OR Zurich Certified Apprentice, including an Associate's degree and 3+ years of experience in Transportation Safety and/or Casualty Risk Engineering.
  • AND Experience working in a team environment.
Senior Consultant:
  • Bachelor's Degree and 6+ years of experience within the Transportation Safety and/or Casualty Risk Engineering area.
  • OR High School Diploma or Equivalent and 8+ years of experience within the Transportation Safety and/or Casualty Risk Engineering area.
  • AND Experience with Microsoft Office.
  • AND Experience working in a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Health and Safety, or related field.
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP).
  • Associate in Risk Management (ARM) designation.
  • Fleet Industry experience.
  • Account oversight experience as a Loss Control/Risk Engineering consultant with large customers casualty lines of business and programs to include: Auto, General Liability, Worker's Compensation, Property, Products Liability, SIR, Guaranteed Cost, Large Deductible, and Collateral.
  • Ability to manage and coordinate safety services for large customers with multiple locations.
  • Knowledge of safety management programs that control workplace hazards, educate employees, and promote safety awareness/accountability.
  • Ability to conduct safety training with large and small groups at all business levels.
  • Strong communication and results-oriented consultative skills.
  • Outstanding collaboration skills.
  • History of working successfully in a team environment.
  • High degree of proficiency in using computer and related software or systems.
