The Role: 🧑‍💻

Join Lattice's AI Engineering team and lead our AI strategy, focusing on large language models (LLMs) and emerging machine learning technologies. You'll build software to help organizations thrive.

What You'll Do:

• Design and build end-to-end AI/ML architectures, including data pipelines, model development, and deployment.
• Develop, fine-tune, and optimize LLM-based solutions for Lattice's platform.
• Make architectural decisions, balancing scalability, latency, accuracy, and cost.
• Implement AIOps practices (CI/CD, feature flagging, model monitoring, optimization).
• Collaborate with product managers, data scientists, and engineers.
• Mentor and guide engineers in AI engineering best practices.
• Lead technical evaluations of AI/ML vendors and platforms.

What You'll Bring:

• 8+ years of experience in production-level application development.
• 4+ years designing and implementing scalable AI/ML systems in production.
• Deep LLM expertise (prompt engineering, evaluation metrics, model fine-tuning, vector DBs).
• Experience with Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), and understanding of RLHF or LoRA.
• Experience with traditional ML techniques (supervised/unsupervised systems or neural networks).
• Strong Python programming skills (PyTorch, TensorFlow, Hugging Face Transformers, LangChain).
• MLOps expertise: deployment (Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform/CDK), model monitoring (MLflow, DataDog), CI/CD.
• AWS proficiency (Lambdas, SQS, SNS, etc.) and data engineering tools for large datasets.
• Excellent problem-solving, system design, and decision-making skills.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

• Familiarity with hybrid ML/LLM solutions.
• Experience with agentic AI or multi-agent systems.
• Experience with cloud-based ML services (AWS SageMaker, Google Cloud AI, Azure ML).
• TypeScript/JavaScript experience (NodeJS, GraphQL, PostgreSQL).
• Experience with multiple cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Publication or presentation record on AI/ML topics.
