At G Adventures, our Tour Leaders are called Chief Experience Officers (CEOs). This isn't just about logistics; it's about creating unforgettable experiences for our travelers.

Where You'll Explore: 🗺️

You'll lead tours in France, Italy, Spain, and Portugal. Some combination tours may include other European countries.

What You'll Do: 💼

  • Consistently deliver exceptional customer service and traveler satisfaction.
  • Lead and care for your travel group.
  • Become a local expert: Deepen your knowledge of the visited countries' culture, religion, current events, and environment.
  • Master the logistics: Know hotels, sights, restaurants, transportation, souvenirs, and pricing.
  • Build your network: Develop helpful information sources and contacts.
  • Maintain travel readiness: Keep your passport, visa, vaccinations, and preventative medications up-to-date.
  • Identify opportunities: Spot potential new destinations, tour leaders, markets, or itinerary improvements for G Adventures.

On Each Tour: ✈️

  • Guide, interpret, and manage your group daily.
  • Address traveler concerns and ensure satisfaction.
  • Follow the itinerary, adjusting only when necessary.
  • Handle reservations for accommodations, transportation, and activities.
  • Accompany travelers on optional activities and meals.
  • Advise on restaurants, transportation, souvenirs, etc.
  • Manage trip expenses, keep receipts, and stay within budget.
  • Submit trip reports in the required format.
  • Keep trip notes updated.
  • Train new tour leaders.
  • Assist regional and Toronto offices as needed.

What We're Looking For: ✨

  • Passion for Adventure Travel: A genuine love for exploring vibrant parts of the world is essential. Previous international living, travel, study, or work experience is required.
  • Language Skills: Excellent English is mandatory. Strong Portuguese is also crucial for maintaining excellent relationships with local communities and travelers.
  • Leadership & Communication: Proven experience in leadership roles with excellent communication skills in various settings.
  • Resourcefulness: Ability to remain calm under pressure, solve problems decisively, and think on your feet.
  • Commitment to Sustainable Tourism: Dedication to environmentally and culturally responsible travel.
  • Good Health & Energy: Ability to handle the physical and mental demands of long days.
  • First Aid/CPR Certification: Required at the start of your contract.
  • Basic Accounting/Budgeting: Experience with budgets is a plus.
  • Computer Literacy: Proficiency with internet, email, Microsoft Word, and Excel.
  • Ability to travel extensively across Europe.
