Who We Are:

Join a client of Leap29 as the VP of Transmission and Interconnection and spearhead the expansion of greenfield renewable energy projects nationwide. This leadership role demands technical expertise, commercial acumen, and strategic thinking. 💡

Your Mission:

Lead a team of utility-scale renewable energy developers and guide them through every phase of the interconnection process, from regional injection capacity analysis to successful project commissioning. Collaborate closely with the Chief Development Officer to devise and execute strategies for greenfield projects across the U.S. 📈

Your Responsibilities:

⚡ Steer a dynamic team and provide comprehensive interconnection guidance, assessing financial implications, risks, and securities.
🤝 Build solid relationships with ISOs, RTOs, transmission service providers, and industry experts, fostering smooth project progression.
🗓️ Oversee interconnection studies, offering strategic advice to mitigate risks and achieve construction readiness.
🤹 Manage multiple projects, ensuring efficient interconnection processes at various development stages.
🛠️ Supervise the technical evaluation of critical project equipment, considering interconnection aspects.
🚀 Contribute to internal procedure development, coordinate with external consultants, and shape project timelines and budgets.
🤝 Represent the organization at industry events and support the Development team's leadership.
🔦 Identify potential renewable energy project acquisitions and conduct thorough due diligence in specific markets.
📊 Ensure transparent and timely reporting on project statuses.
💻 Stay updated with new software tools for analyzing project transmission and injection capacity scenarios.

What You Bring:

⚡ 12+ years of experience in high voltage interconnection for renewable energy projects, including 4+ years in management.
💪 Thrive in a remote, entrepreneurial setup.
🗺️ In-depth knowledge of key power markets, including SPP, MISO, ERCOT, PJM, and WECC.
🤝 Experience in managing internal teams and external consultants for continuous interconnection progress.
🖥️ Recent experience in the interconnection design process, including one-line project diagrams and modeling with PSSE and PSCAD.
🤝 Proven ability to build strong relationships with ISOs, utilities, and transmission service providers.

📚 Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, or a related field (preferred).
