๐Ÿขย The Role

As part of Flutter Tech Global Services, theย Workplace Engineerย will be at the forefront of delivering strategic change through workplace technologies. You will build a set of tools that support Flutter's products and services across the Group and its Divisions.

This role is perfect for a skilled, tech-savvy, and people-oriented engineer who can design, implement, and automate workplace technologies. You will ensure everything aligns with Flutter's overall technology strategy.

You'll play a key part in evaluating and choosing the best technologies, tools, and operating models to achieve our group technology goals.

Ideally, you will have experience working with large-scale enterprise organizations on projects like start-ups, migrations, and modernization transformations. This experience should involve a customer-focused and collaborative approach, backed by a strong technical foundation. You'll need to confidently answer questions, explain the business benefits of migrations, and show a good understanding of cloud solutions.

๐ŸŽฏย What You'll Be Doing

  • Review, assess, and define technical requirements (including sign-off) for Flutter Group Functions Projects, ensuring they match divisional needs.
  • Manage the configuration, maintenance, and administration of tools like Atlassian (Jira, Confluence, Access, Insight), Slack, and Okta.
  • Optimize the use of Atlassian services to meet team and business goals, automating user and business needs to boost group-wide productivity.
  • Offer full-service engagement, providing ideas, options, solutions, and advice to global projects.
  • Promote group engagement by developing and implementing best practices to create a secure workplace. This involves aligning with security controls, compliance, and standards.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with other Group functions and divisional Workplace teams, spotting opportunities for strategic collaboration.
  • Define, document, support, and approve LLDs, process creation, and maintain Flutter Workplace technologies.
  • Design, test, and deploy API integrations and promote software interoperability wherever possible.
  • Design, configure, test, deploy, and enhance automations. Write and test code, participate in code reviews, and provide constructive feedback to maintain code quality.
  • Triage and resolve Flutter Workplace technology incidents and service requests.
  • Support the Workplace Architect and Divisional leads with Office Technology and Workplace strategies.
  • Help create and communicate Flutter Group standards for design, development, and deployment.
  • Serve as a trusted business partner, answering ad-hoc questions, sharing technical expertise, improving processes, and enhancing understanding of how business areas use Workplace Technology.
  • Take ownership of creating and driving the adoption of standard operating procedures/runbooks and Workplace standards and policies.
  • Leverage your understanding of people, processes, and technology to provide improved consultancy, faster reviews, and better engagement.
  • Collaborate with Third Party vendors and partners.
  • On-call duties may be implemented in the future.

๐Ÿคย What You'll Bring

  • Experience working within a complex architecture/development practice, managing multiple large and complex projects simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated impact on the strategic development of technology in a medium or large-sized company.
  • Experience with User Life Cycle management, including automated provisioning/deprovisioning to improve efficiency and enhance security.
  • Strong knowledge of Atlassian, particularly apps like Access, Jira Service Management, Insight Asset Management, and Automation for Jira.
  • Experience with source control management (e.g., GitHub and Bitbucket).
  • In-depth understanding of information and technical architecture and operations management disciplines.
  • Reliability and consistency in successfully managing multiple activities of varying scope and complexity, consistently delivering results on time and within budget.
  • Experience managing global distributed processes with matrix responsibilities.
  • Experience with the following technologies is also essential:
    • Okta
    • Atlassian
    • Slack and Enterprise Grid
    • Office 365 (including Exchange Online), Azure, and MS Intune
    • Zoom Conferencing
    • GitHub
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
