The Role ๐Ÿ’ผ

The Account Manager drives profitable growth by focusing on developing potential target customers based on a specialized platform. This involves forecasting annual sales, margins, and volume growth objectives.

What You'll Do:

  • Successfully sell at all management levels, building relationships to ensure Avient receives priority consideration.
  • Assist customers in problem-solving and deliver effective solutions.
  • Bring energy, enthusiasm, and professionalism to daily tasks.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision, effectively interacting and influencing at the managerial peer level.
  • Achieve profitable revenue growth, including robust new business development.
  • Meet stated gross margin targets.
  • Utilize customer-centric selling skills and tools (scorecards, business reviews, EVE tools, high/wide/deep, 5 warning signs, prospecting & new account calls, sales funnel development, AR collection, bad debt avoidance, cross-selling, and CRM management).
  • Establish, track, and close new business targets at designated accounts.
  • Develop contact matrices and build strong relationships with key decision-makers.
  • Prospect and make cold calls.
  • Develop, execute, and manage sales plans, budgets, and expense budgets.
  • Create account development plans and network resources within the customer's organization and Avient.
  • Deliver planned results (AOP).
  • Develop account relationships, identify opportunities, and capture service opportunities at strategic accounts.
  • Understand key players, applications, requirements, trends, and needs, as well as Avient's potential within the targeted industry. Become an industry and product expert.
  • Collaborate with regional sales teams and the technical area to drive profitable growth through solutions selling.
  • Link the customerโ€™s business strategy with Avient's capabilities.
  • Monitor competition to understand issues and threats, developing plans to overcome barriers.
  • Implement Avient's pricing and market strategies and business practices. Negotiate customer contracts and value packages.
  • Participate in strategy development, business positioning, and offer development. Assist in defining target markets and commercial strategy.
  • Develop written Account Plans for top three strategic accounts, including metrics to define annualized sales potential.
  • Manage strategic relationships, cultivate new alliances, and monitor competitive activity.
  • Maintain CRM data and sales statistics.
  • Up to 75% travel is required.

What We're Looking For:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in strategic selling, cold calling, commercial sales, tactical sales techniques, and process improvement.
  • Proven professional experience.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Self-confidence, negotiation skills, assertiveness, self-motivation, training/mentoring others, time/priority management, and influencing skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SAP Business Warehouse.
  • Ability to work independently and on a team.
