Role Summary

This is a role in Aidoc’s core AI group, which focuses on developing advanced AI solutions in healthcare, improving medical imaging and diagnostics. As a Tech Leader in the AI Algorithm Engineering group, you will play a key role in managing end-to-end AI research and development efforts and being hands-on in key initiatives. Your responsibility will include design, implementation, guidance, and mentoring for team members, and representing AI considerations in discussions across teams. You will use your wide experience to lead multiple AI projects and be a key figure in leading successful execution and finding creative solutions to difficult bottlenecks across data, AI, engineering, and product considerations.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and implementation of accurate and strong AI algorithms for medical data with a hands-on approach.
• Work with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, software engineers, product managers, and clinical data experts, to make sure AI considerations have a strong effect on R&D and Product decisions across projects.
• Design and conduct research and experiments to improve algorithm performance and accuracy.
• Stay current with the newest advances in AI and machine learning, especially in the medical area, and drive their use within the team.
• Oversee multiple projects, making sure execution is successful, delivery is on time, and objectives for product and business are met.
• Provide strategic direction and technical mentoring to improve the capabilities of the AI team.

Requirements

• Master’s or Ph.D. degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related field.
• 7+ years of experience in designing and implementing AI/Deep Learning (DL) algorithms, with a preference for experience in healthcare or medical imaging.
• Proven track record of leading AI projects and delivering AI solutions that succeed commercially.
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to explain complex technical ideas to people who are not technical.
• Proficiency in Python and familiarity with relevant AI/ML frameworks.
• Experience in both computer vision and NLP is highly desirable.
• Prior experience in the healthcare industry is an advantage.
