Responsibilities:
- Assess Income Protection claims, adhering to industry-leading claims practice with attention to detail and compliance.
- Obtain medical information, financial information, and any other information relevant to the assessment of risk on each claim, adhering to the relevant Service Level Agreement.
- Draft and issue claims decision letters and other claims-related correspondence, potentially including communications to Senior members of staff.
- Liaise with strategic underwriters, management, reinsurers, and other stakeholders to ensure the swift and correct outcome of a claim.
- Support team members with best practice techniques and medical practice through knowledge sharing.
- Follow internal client service practices that build rewarding relationships and enable exceptional client service.
Requirements:
- Broad experience in assessing and managing Income Protection (IP) claims.
- Experience dealing directly and effectively with the Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS) on claims-related matters.
- Good experience working with reinsurers.
- Confident in presenting ideas and training peers.
- Intermediate skills in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and usual Office applications.
- Detailed knowledge of the UK insurance market and regulatory environment.
- Degree level or equivalent qualification.
- Specialist level knowledge gained through significant work experience in a relevant role.
