Role Description
As the Instructional Designer II, you will serve as a strategic partner to senior leaders and subject matter experts, developing high-impact learning solutions including eLearning modules, instructor-led content, and blended programs. You will manage complex projects independently and apply advanced instructional design methodologies such as ADDIE to create results-driven, performance-based learning experiences. Your expertise will make sure content is accessible and engaging, aligning with business goals and resonating with diverse learners. You will champion learning excellence while supporting a culture of continuous development.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a strategic partner to senior leaders and subject matter experts.
- Develop high-impact learning solutions including eLearning modules, instructor-led content, and blended programs.
- Manage complex projects independently.
- Apply advanced instructional design methodologies such as ADDIE to create results-driven, performance-based learning experiences.
- Make sure accessibility compliance is met.
- Deliver engaging content that aligns with business goals and resonates with diverse learners.
- Stay current on learning trends and tools, championing learning excellence.
Requirements
- Must be presently authorized to work in the U.S. without a requirement for work authorization sponsorship by our company for this position now or in the future.
- 3 or more years of experience in instructional design or learning experience design in a corporate or business environment.
- Advanced proficiency with Articulate 360 (Storyline and Rise).
- Demonstrated ability to lead learning projects with minimal supervision.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and relationship-building skills across all levels of the organization.
- Experience with LMS platforms and SCORM-compliant content development.
- Skilled in adult learning theory and learning evaluation frameworks.
- Familiarity with instructional accessibility guidelines (e.g., WCAG).
- Demonstrated attention to detail, discretion in handling confidential information, strong time management, and the ability to manage a high-volume workload across multiple projects.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft 365 and collaboration tools used in instructional design.
Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have)
- Experience translating complex concepts into compelling and clear learning content.
- Ability to provide peer feedback and contribute to quality assurance and recommended approaches.
- Proven track record of aligning training with organizational goals and metrics.
- Ability to protect the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information and technology assets against unauthorized disclosure, destruction, and/or alteration, in accordance with Safety National policies, standards, and procedures.
Salary
- The target base salary range for this position is $75,000 to $97,500. Compensation for the successful candidate will consider the candidate’s particular combination of knowledge, skills, competencies, experience, and geographic location.
Location
- Qualified candidates residing outside the St. Louis metropolitan area are eligible to work remotely or in one of our regional offices.
- For candidates who reside in the St. Louis metropolitan area, if hired you will be required to work a hybrid work schedule which includes a minimum of 3 days per week in our St. Louis Corporate Office, located at 1832 Schuetz Rd, Saint Louis, MO.
