Role Overview

We are seeking a UX/UI Systems Designer to refine and systemize our digital brand experience across every user touchpoint. This role brings order, elegance, and structure to our design workflow.

You will work closely with our Design Director and report to our VP Creative, to turn ideas, concepts, and input from multiple stakeholders into responsive, well-structured designs that are ready for engineering. Your work will help shape the digital look of Kathy Kuo Home, Kathy Kuo Studio, and Kathy Kuo Trade.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Design Systems & Figma Excellence
    • Build, maintain, and develop our Figma design system with a focus on clarity, ability to grow, and high-quality component construction.
    • Establish consistent patterns, variants, and auto-layout logic.
    • Maintain clean, organized file structures that allow for efficiency, reuse, and teamwork.
    • Support long-term improvements in workflow, automation, and AI-assisted design capabilities.
  2. UX/UI Design & Responsive Layouts
    • Create responsive UX/UI designs and execute them for homepage modules, visual navigation, product detail pages, lookbooks, and new digital experiences, starting with a mobile-first view.
    • Translate broad concepts and feedback from multiple stakeholders into polished, user-centered designs.
    • Bring visual consistency and brand refinement to all digital interfaces.
  3. Cross-Functional Collaboration
    • Work closely with engineers using precise notes, acceptance criteria, and UI logic.
    • Support UAT (User Acceptance Testing) by documenting issues and UI differences, and providing clear, practical feedback to achieve the expected behavior.
    • Manage feedback from multiple stakeholders and turn it into practical revisions.
    • Collaborate with Creative, Product, Marketing, and Engineering to improve workflows and operational efficiency.
    • Communicate design reasoning clearly and thoughtfully, always building trust and mutual respect.
  4. Systems Thinking & Operational Excellence
    • Support the Design Director by owning the production and systemization of design work, allowing leadership to focus on higher-level strategy, innovation, and AI integration.
    • Bring order, clarity, and structure to workflows across Marketing, Creative, Product, and Engineering.
    • Identify chances to simplify processes, use new tools, and expand design operations.

Who You Are

Required Experience:

  • 3+ years of UX/UI or product design experience.
  • Expert-level skill in Figma.
  • Strong foundation in mobile-first and responsive design.
  • Experience working with Product and Engineering teams.
  • Highly organized, structured, and consistent in workflow.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities with grace and clarity.

Preferred Experience:

  • Ecommerce UX/UI experience.
  • Familiarity with HTML/CSS frameworks (no coding, just understanding).
  • Experience with design systems in a growing organization.
  • Interest in AI-assisted design, automation, or operations.

Culture and Values

At Kathy Kuo Home, we are a passionate team of design lovers, creative thinkers, and understanding problem-solvers driven to make a real difference through beautiful interiors. As one of the fastest-growing brands in the home space, we offer an energetic, fast-paced environment where an entrepreneurial spirit and purposeful work succeed.

Core Values:

  • We are First Principles Thinkers: We break down complex problems into their basic parts. By questioning assumptions and developing a deep understanding of the basic rules, we find new and creative solutions.
  • We are Deeply Curious and Seek to Understand: We are deeply curious and try to understand without being emotionally tied to a specific result. Curiosity needs empathy and self-awareness, which are our two main guiding principles.
  • We are Humble and Hungry: We are careful and deliberate with our resources, making sure we are efficient and effective while keeping our integrity.

Core Principles:

  • Respectful / Kind: We treat our suppliers, customers, and each other with the same level of respect and kindness.
  • Self-Awareness: We highly value self-reflection and taking responsibility for "my part" in every interaction. We accept vulnerability and openness as ways to help personal and group improvement, creating an open culture of sharing and learning.
  • We Embrace Feedback: We practice giving and receiving feedback often and with understanding, encouraging an environment of constant improvement and deep trust between colleagues and brand partners.
  • Attention to Detail in Design and Service: The small things matter in our effort to be excellent. We carefully check all parts of our design and service results.
  • Keeping Calm and Grace Under Pressure: When facing difficulties, we remain self-aware, understanding, and curious.
