Role Overview

The High-Tech Operations Team is looking for an Intern Software Developer (SWEs) to help support the growth of our client's Engineering and Admin teams.

The ideal candidate will work with our Technical managers to build creative plans to develop and keep up our services and products.

You should be comfortable working alongside technical managers and technical advisors to make sure expectations are exceeded and strive for the best service experience.

Responsibilities

  • Design and Build Circuits: Develop, test, and put into action circuits connecting Arduinos with WiFi modules, audio devices, and microphones.
  • IoT System Integration: Bring hardware together with AWS-hosted web services, allowing for real-time data processing, voice recognition, and conversation interpretation using ChatGPT.
  • Collaborate on Hardware and Software Solutions: Work closely with teams from different functions to design solutions that combine hardware (Arduino circuits) and cloud-based software (AWS).
  • Optimize Audio/Voice Interfaces: Build and improve circuits for capturing high-quality audio and voice input, making sure it connects smoothly with AI services.
  • Troubleshooting and Debugging: Find and solve hardware and connection problems, making sure communication between devices and cloud services is reliable.
  • Documentation: Create detailed documents for circuit design, system structure, and connection with AWS services, helping with staying power and future improvements.

Requirements

  • This is a Student Social Service Program.
  • Bachelor's degree Student (last year/semester) in Telematics or related fields.
  • Willing to work in a start-up and/or fast-paced setting.
  • Circuit Design Knowledge: Hands-on experience with PCB design, soldering, and connecting sensors/devices to Arduinos or Adafruit.
  • Wireless Communication Protocols: Understanding of WiFi communication protocols, especially in microcontroller-based systems.
  • Basic AWS Knowledge: Familiarity with AWS IoT services, cloud storage, and API connections, especially for handling audio data streams.
  • Familiarity with Audio Processing: Experience working with microphones and audio devices, connecting them with hardware and software systems.
  • Programming: Skill in programming languages used with Arduino (C/C++) and knowledge of web technologies like NodeJS.
  • Adaptability to AI Services: Ability to bring in and work with AI tools like ChatGPT for speech-to-text and conversation interpretation tasks.
  • Strong sense of responsibility.
  • Great organizational skills and a constant drive to make things more effective.
  • Strong teamwork and ability to welcome differences when working alongside others.
  • Basic knowledge of the G-Suite suite including Docs, Slides, Sheets, and Gmail.
  • High personal integrity.
  • Friendly and approachable.

Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have)

  • Experience with Voice-activated Systems: Previous work in developing or connecting voice-controlled systems using AI technologies.
  • AWS Certifications: AWS Cloud Practitioner or IoT specialty certifications would be a plus.
  • Knowledge of AI and Machine Learning Tools: Basic understanding of machine learning concepts and voice processing systems.

Language

  • Spanish Native.
  • English Advanced: Reading.
